One Fast Cat Wheel Reviews

I am not wasting any money on the One Fast Cat wheel...

This is the wheel I will buy to replace my wheel by the Cat Wheel Company: http://www.petzones.com/Cat_Exercise_wheel.html

Yes...it is expensive...but yes...it is handmade and very well made! for me, I already know my cats will use it, so that is not the issue, which is probably why I would spend the money...
Thanks for for tip about pet zone wheel. I've checked the out and have emailed for more specific measurements and more info on the wall mount wheel. In decision making my obstacle is 36 or 48 inches? A lot has been mentioned about the need to allow room to stretch. Should that be the primary concern? Or should it be what the wheel is intended for......exercise? Kitty now at 1 yr. 7 months old, weighs 11 pounds, stretched out 35 inches. Kitty has multiple locations among all "her" kitty areas to stretch. Kitty scratchers, custom kitty stairs, cat tree, custom walk about landings, cardboard cubes & 4 locations for vertical scratching. Isn't the focus to provide a good cardio workout? Or am I missing something?
question PAIGE would the pet zone wheel 36 inch be ok, if that's all the room I have? It hard for me to visualize it.
I need to get one and be done. 3 months waiting for the one fast cat wheel has exhausted my patience.

At minimum I think you need a wheel that's 3x your cats height at the shoulder in diameter and ideally 4x. Anything less and they won't be able to actually run and reach a speed where they can get into their stride. Also keep in mind that twice per stride they are totally airborne, so despite them being stationary the are covering a lot of the wheels track length.

I have hope that Atticus would like a wheel since he tries to run inside the large capacity front load washer. But I like the idea of a treadmill better than a wheel.

Cinny, Zuri and Siri all run at full stride on the Maclaw Wheel...Ixas used to but he is too fat right now...Siri is much bigger than either Cinny or Zuri, but she runs like a cheetah on that wheel...so while I am not about to go measuring, I would say the smaller cats do well on the 48" wheel...

I don't think a treadmill is a good idea for our cats as it's going to be difficult for them to constrain their stride to the available track area.

BTW, here's some high speed camera footage of a cheetah, which somewhat illustrates the issues of smaller wheels or a treadmill. They are simply covering a lot of distance per stride as well as simply having a lot of length when they are fully stretched out.
