Is a space monkey anything like a sea monkey? I desperately wanted a sea monkey when I was young and now I find myself craving this space monkey even more!

Interestingly, this video just came to be which pretty much exhibits the amount of force needed to assemble the product and make it be functional. Pretty funny how winded he is putting it together and the amount of effort made to lower expectations.

It really is a shame... Many, many people want their money back and if they are part of the kick starter, cannot get it back... I would rather have the plastic cat wheel company wheel than this one... And my maclaw wheel is 100 times better than this...what a letdown

Paige, I think at this point the OFC designer has demonstrated what it takes to put it together and make it functional. While not exactly what I did to re-assemble the wheel it's dramatically better than the first time I tried to set it up.

Trying to get it assembled on carpeting? Forget it, as you will never get the pieces tight enough or the cylinder to be true.

Don't have a rubber mallet, go get one. Without it you may have to hit things hard enough to break your wrist or hand. Needed force plus frustration makes the rubber mallet an absolute necessity.

I'd also suggest that it's a lot easier to put together in 80 degree Los Angeles than it is in a midwestern home in the mid-60s.

I'm certainly not thrilled with the product but if I had this latest video it would have been functional the first time I assembled it. Likewise, I'm sure a lot of people if they had seen this video before purchasing it would have opted out. I also can't imagine my Mom or my Sister dancing around on the edge of the wheel to make sure the parts are securely installed.

All that said, I'm pretty certain the people with major issues with the product don't have it assembled properly. I understand this latest video presented isn't the program they believed they were signing up for, but the hand we were dealt. I'm disappointed that the efforts made with our boy Dino before the wheel was assembled properly has likely soured him from making an effort to try again any time soon. Our younger boy at less than 3 months old is starting to take trots on the wheel (after re-assembly) without coaxing.

Dino will follow suit. He will see the little one and say to himself, " Dino the magnificent, are you going to let a young, little upstart show you up and that round running thing? Get you large hiney up there and run..."

One more thing I noticed is the roller blade wheels are out of round. Wouldn't be an issue on a set of roller blades as they would quickly wear to the other high low spots, but in this case there isn't much wear occurring.

They did cancel my order with no issue. But items like this would be a pita to return!

That could be the source of you dutch roll / yaw problem.

The axles move all over the place as well. It's a total death wobble factory..

The product needed a mechanical engineer review and then a QA person before they ever got put on a boat.
