Good morning all. (It is morning out here in SoCa.l) I wanted to get Tojo home and through the night before I explained the whole story. He is doing fine this am. Thanks again for all the support. Sorry for the long read, but I need to get it out. ;) He has eaten some crazy things in his 8 months and the ones I've known about he has either coughed up or passed. I kept a pretty good eye on him I thought which was difficult when he was going thru growing in his adult teeth about 1 1/2-2 months ago. He chewed everything. And apparently now we know he ingested this part of a toy way back then.

I vaguely remember picking up the wand that this belonged to and trying to remember what the rest looked like but wasnt able to find it and then I guess forgot about it. He showed NO symptoms of anything at all wrong until about 2 weeks ago when his appetite went down and he began eating slower. He still ate plenty of food so I just figured his growing spurt was over. His stools have been completely normal through this whole thing. About a week ago he started vomiting a little clear liquid about 5 hours after he ate. I started thinking maybe his food didnt agree with him and changed it. Then he started shaking his head occasionally with his tongue out and I thought he might have a hair or string wrapped around his tongue so we went to vet. Nothing around his tongue but he does have a sore gum around a "shark tooth" where the baby tooth has not come out and the adult one has come in. The vet wanted to put him under and remove it. I was hesitant about that and stalled. Meanwhile his vomiting continued and I did not want to have him go under anethesia with that going on so I took him back for a recheck. The vet was thinking that he probably had acid reflux and was going to start him on meds but suggested we take an xray to make sure he didnt have any birth defects that may cause gastro issues. THANK GOD we did. He immediately saw the toy and off to the ER Vet we went. They wanted to try and remove it with a scope but with the option of immediately opening him up if it didnt work. After a lifetime of waiting the good news came that they were able to remove it with the scope! They said he did have some stomach lesions since having the toy in there for so long. It was amazing that he had that in there so long and it only partially blocked him and he was able to eat and eliminate, but that made it hard for me to know he had a problem!

He came home late last night high as a kite and freaking out from the meds but finally settled down and is back to normal this am. He will be on pain meds and pepcid for a few days. Now of course worry me will be watching him like a hawk! Oh yes and we did have that Savannah chat about what does and doesnt go in your mouth ;)

Wow what a terrible ordeal, but thank god you caught it and now Tojo's safe and going to be alright other than some discomfort for a short while. I can imagine you're happy to have him back home. Hopefully Shelby's listening as I read this out loud for him ;)
