Thank you all so much! Just heard- they were able to pull it out using a scope! He will be on pain meds and pepcid for stomach lesions due to it being in there for a while. I can pick him up in 4 hrs :(. Cant wait to see him and give him big kisses! Thanks so much for all your prayers. I will tell the whole long story later when I get a chance. I had no idea he had swallowed anything and his symptoms were so vague - SCARY!
Very glad they were able to pull it out...hope he bounces back quickly now :)

Really quite amazing that this just stayed in his stomach and didn't get moved into his intestines where potentially it could have killed him... guessing you won't be leaving wand toys out anymore :-( We have a long storage bench in our living room for putting those things in for safety... although I've been lazy lately with putting them away as none are chewers but think something like that might be a good idea for you?

I thought I was good about putting them away. I have a closet I keep those kind of toys in but obviously missed that one. He has only one wand toy now and its put away promptly after play. I feel bad I didnt look for it more judiciously for it when I saw it missing :(

It was starting to move into his intestines which is why they were a bit skeptical about pulling it out. The xray was scary!

It's hard to remember every time... but it seems with this kitty you will have to be vigilant! I have a friend who had a cat (not a Savannah) who would swallow rubber bands...I'd meet her for lunch and she'd have a few on her wrist, because she had developed the habit of putting them there immediately on sight so that she didn't leave them laying around where he could eat them. Several surgeries over the years taught her a very good lesson or two :-(
