My first Savannah is an 11 year old F2, so I know what you mean about them not slowing down with age... they just never seem to completely grow out of kittenhood :)

The spraying was definitely what you thought it was, marking his territory...your home may have smelled like the previous cats a bit for example and he had to lay claim. I'm glad with some persistence (and cleaning) all calmed down which is exactly how we'd hope it would go!

Some of the group might be interested to know that Rock Star is one of the very first Wagati F1s... Nicole Greig of Wagati produced some of the first F1s and many many of our Savannahs go back to a Wagati F1, my very first breeding Savannah had a Wagati mom :) Nicole actually took him back to foster while we found his new home, how cool that must have been to see one of her babies thirteen years later!

Hate to be off topic but I heard wagati and was like oh! My f2's mama was from wagati!

Wow, Cindy, it is wonderful what you have been able to do with Rockstar in such a short period of time. And we do often turn our lives upside down for them, don't we? Your hubby sounds awesome - kudos to him for taking Rockstar's chewing in stride and just fixing it so he can't get out. Kudos to you both for enriching Rockstar's life as you have...

I have turned my townhouse into a cat sanctuary - LOL!!! The catwalk is around the entire perimeter with breaks where the furniture is, so they use the top of the furniture as stepping stones...I do have a deck and will be putting an enclosure out there shortly so they can be outside without waiting for me to walk them.

We all do what we can in what space we have to make our baby's lives that much better and enriched. I still cannot believe someone would give up such a gorgeous baby instead of working with and trying to figure out the issues...but like you said, his loss and your gain - and Rockstar's fortune ;)

Thank you Paige...We are sooo blessed! Hubby is such a trooper, and mind you he was known as a Cat hater prior to me ;) I always told him he never met the right one! After a miscarriage and a hole in my heart is when Brigittes email about Rockstar (a.k.a Bus) came and at that point I think if I wanted an elephant hubby would have said yes! But trust me, he is soooo in love with this cat, I will never forget him stopping by his buddies house who was standing in the yard and saying, hey you have to come by and see my cat! I will never forget the look on his friends face...he said YOUR CAT?, then he looked in at me and said What exactly have you done to him?..hahaha, I was like, OH trust me, it was not me! He fell for my other cats, but not enough to claim ownership ;) I think the manliness of throwing him a chicken leg and watching the cat tear it apart was the bonding moment! The other day he was also measuring the space to our upper cathedral windows, they are up very high like 15ft, and Rockstar has been very curious about them, but even if he gets on furniture and could make the jump he is unsure of the space he has to land, you can see him pondering as he paces and looks, its so funny, so hubby was like well maybe I should make some kind of steps along the wall for him to stair up to the windows ;) great idea! Now, If I could just get Rockstar to get a squeegee and some windex up there with him, that would be perfect! :D

OH Yes Brigitte I think that it's fascinating that he is one of the first ones produced. I lost contact with Nicole, the email address I have for her is no longer valid, I wanted to let her know he is still doing fabulous, if you should happen to have a recent contact for her please pass on the info to her! I thought she might want to know he is still doing awesome, this June will be 2 years since you helped us all find each other ;) Every day has been a blessing since!
I was just copied on an email to Nicole...so will hunt that out. Is your email addy the same so I can send it to you?

I think it wonderful, Cindy, that your husband has fallen for Rockstar... Savannahs do seem the cats that people that previously weren't too keen on cats then find they really like. People who prefer dogs seem to find Savannahs preferable to most other cats. I think it is the extra interactiveness of the breed...

And I've met a number of Wagati F1s in my time and they all have extra charisma to go with their good looks...Nicole did a good job of raising them :)

Cindy, I love hearing all the stories about your adventures with Rock Star! You should write a diary of his antics! And I agree, you should definitely build some steps up to the cathedral windows! ;)
