You are very gracious in the face of adversity John. I'm thrilled to hear that Trish is out of the hospital and on the road to recovery. Although you both may be changed forever by this ordeal, your hearts will heal, in time. Blessings to you both.

John, the courage you and Trish have displayed during this tragedy has been inspiring. Perhaps you don't feel so courageous right now but it is evident to all of us. Rebuilding your lives will not come easy but I am confident you will face each challenge together with the same courage and steadfastness that has gotten you this far. I hope you will let us know if there is any way we can continue to help. My prayers are with you both.

BLESSINGS FROM ABOVE! Praying that the healing and miracles continue to bless this family. like Lord God said, in Genesis. It is not good that man should be alone. Trish John needs you now more than ever!

Your post brought tears to my eyes again. Words on a screen can't adequately convey how my heart aches for you and the loss of three special family members while being so happy to hear you are ok (physically) and that Trish is going pull through. You have some great days and some really hard days ahead; we are here to support you through both.

Hi Everyone,

Thanks so much for the well wishes, it means the world to us. Also thanks for the donations, they'll help out a great deal short term before our insurance begins to reimburse us for our expenditures. We intend to pay the donations forward to a charity, as once we can get at some of our longer term savings we should be fine. At this time not sure which charity makes the most sense, and I very much want Trish to be part of the process.

Early this afternoon Trish was released from the hospital. She speaks at a whisper, continues coughing up soot and has a very sore throat. That she is out of the hospital is a miracle and that she is even alive is a bigger one. For that we owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to the Lakewood Firefighters who didn't give up on finding her.

I'm sorry that I needed to withhold the name of the hospital caring for Trish. I just really needed her to be focused on her own recovery despite knowing her only concern was our babies. When she finally got ahold of pen and paper writing out C A T S she only had to look into my eyes to know.

We will forever miss Chongo, Monte and Pixie, they were the sunshine in our lives. Yet today I still feel fortunate as when I set out on my journey home 4 days ago I had thought I had lost everything. The courage of firefighters, the support of friends and family, the care of the staff at the Akron Children's Hospital Burn Trauma Center and the generosity of the members of this forum, we are very humbled and forever indebted.

Please give your fur babies a big hug for us.

Glad to know Trish continues to improve, John. What you and Trish have gone through this past week is unbelievable and all of our worst nightmares. Sending strength to you both to weather the coming days.
