Why didn't I think of looking up home made options (face palm) I have a boat load of cardboard boxes downstairs, from moving trips and just in general my buns like boxes and I used it when they were younger to block off under the couch and behind the tables where there were plugs..( they chewed through plastic covers like crazy) I think I could make it a little arts and craft time cut up squares and glue together in layers. welp now I know what I'll be doing tonight lol

Did you ever see that video of a guy that built an entire wall of boxes for his cats? He used those heavy duty file storage boxes and connected them all together. Some of the boxes were solid in front and had openings for the cat to come up thru them and onto the ones on the sides and tops. Some of the boxes had open fronts while others had various sized windows. His cat seemed quite appreciative! I don't know how well this would hold up for an adult SV but a kitten would sure have a blast!

I never thought I would have cat furniture in my pristine MCM home. Now I have a cat wall with shelves for them to climb, a 6 foot cat tree in my bedroom, a 4 foot cat tree in my den, as well as an entire pottery barn kids kitchen. Can't really blame the cats for the last one! But the tent and huge child tube? They are the cats fault because they love them so much I just keep them out for Ryleigh and the cats to share! Also putting in a rope swing and with Deb's PVC pole idea, a column in the basement. As Ty says, we have a home, not a museum. He likes it better in this new relaxed decor, I am not running around screaming like a banshee at him or my 15 year old to hang up their coats! So fair warning, Bekki. You too may find yourself decorating in the style of Modern American Cat!

I live in an old farm house and the decor is primitive country. It looks sort of reminiscent of a general store. And my boyfriend hates how clean it is. He says it looks like something out of better homes and gardens. I find him intentionally making messes so it feels like someone lives there lol.

Our braided poly-rope (7/16" diameter) wrapped column is holding up well against the monsters. Been up about 4 months now, and they don't touch anything else except the climbing pole. I was afraid they would shred it, but I wrapped it tightly and it's doing great even with heavy use.
I'm also considering wrapping a 1" x 8" piece of board about 48" long with the extra rope and anchoring on a wall in the litter-box room. The rope is about $16/100 feet at Home Depot.

I have a carpet store down the road and I could use carpet remnants and plywood and a fence post to make something. Would rug or rope be better? I'm working on a cardboard one for the time being and I think I'll be creative and make my own post while he's workin on the cardboard one.
