scratching post dilemma

100 feet went about 2 feet up, column is 6"
square. I started with 300 feet, was about 5.5 feet up. They begged and pleaded (loudly) for more rope so I'm up to 500 feet of
rope and approximately 8 feet up with 200 feet waiting. Gonna connect to the wall and go around the perimeter of the room with a ledge, thinking 8" or 10" wide plank with carpet on top.

Apparently I cleared house on my boxes over the years and tossed a bunch out a while back so I only had like 6 boxes still seems to have made a good starter pile. Ill have the boyfriend pick up some more from work if I need em

I did all the cutting, I hope a box cutter will do the trick to help level it off tomorrow I glued maybe a quarter of the cardboard squares and ran out of glue lol. I don't remember running through glue that fast as a child.

Small sections glued together of 5-8 pieces 2 sides are leveled now to glue the chunks together and shave the other two sides down and I think well have a post. Question is.. Is this tall enough? Or do I need more boxes?
