FINALLY got moved into the new house a couple of weeks ago (4 months later than planned).Shango was a little nervous the 1st couple of days which was to be expected, but has settled in great. He still spends a lot of time in his bedroom, but hopefully soon he will be allowed to roam freely throughout the entire house.
Shango loves his new tree. I had to take the fake birds off since he tried to eat them, but he's a good boy and hasn't tried eating the leaves.
There was a minor dispute with my no cats on the counter rule. We compromised and he's allowed on the island table, but stays off the kitchen table & counters... for now anyways.
Great size comparison of Shango playing with his stuffed Serval. 1st pic was taken when he was about 4 months old and 2nd picture was taken yesterday, he's about 1.5 yrs old.

I am long past due on a Shango update....
As of today my fur kid weighs 19 lbs 13.5 oz. I don't think he realizes how much he's grown and still tries to nap on my neck/shoulder like he did when I first got him. He's extra affectionate before bedtime and loves cuddling up next to me on the couch.
Shango is now king of the house and has completely settled in. He loves running full speed from one end of the house to the other. After running into the wall once, he makes a last minute turn and jumps onto my dresser to avoid hitting the wall
Morning napping spot & late afternoon napping spot. He loves to follow the sunlight
He still loves his tree... it's his go to spot to hide whenever a "stranger" stops by to visit
This is officially the 2nd mouse he's caught in the new house... the 1st one he killed and left for me to dispose of . This one he packed from the kitchen to his bedroom to play with it. Unfortunately, it eventually got away from him & was never seen again.
Doesn't matter how big the box is, all boxes belong to Shango

It was time to replace his cube with a new one... of course he immediately started chewing holes in it
He went crazy when I brought out the turkey feathers... super sized feathers = extra fun

Sorry, haven't been on here much lately. My fur kid turned 2 years old on December 20th. He's calmed down A LOT since I first got him and naps a lot more which is nice so I can actually get more work done during the day time since I work from home. He's still got his Savannah energy though when he's ready to play.
Right before Christmas I had to make a super fast 2 day (1 night) trip to TX. Shango's great in the car, but since it was a fast trip I decided to leave him at home for the very 1st time. Since he's never really liked other people very well, I had my mom feed him while I was gone since he's familiar with her. The 1st day she came by to feed him, he was okay. There was some hissing, but he mainly just avoided her. She tried to get him to play with a wand toy, but he wasn't interested. The 2nd day he got worse and would hiss & swat at her until she'd get out of "his house". She checked on him 3 times each day, but he never did warm up to her. I guess he's a good guard cat lol! Needless to say, he was very happy to see me when I got home. I'm not sure who missed who more.
My master is telling me it's time to stop ignoring him.... it's funny how he's so good whenever I leave him home alone, but if I'm home and ignoring him he starts getting into things and being naughty.

His newest favorite toy to play fetch with. He's picky and will only play fetch when he wants to and only with certain toys.
