Finally, it was my last oriental litter.... mommy just past away. I don't know exactly what she had but was suffering and suffocating, had muscular spasm also. They recommended strongly to euthanise her to end her suffering after some x-rays and oxygen and perfusion. So I am so sad she never had her retire time as supposed.
She emptied herself in about 8 hours (4 times). She had all her shots, even FeLV. It is still a big mystery for me. She looked normal and healthy the previous days.
I met with another vet to check on her kittens, and she think maybe I took the decision too fast and that she maybe she wasn't dying. I asked to transfer her files and x-rays to the other vet. I am afraid I made the wrong decision looking at her suffering....

So I will not have my spotted Victoria :(
The 6 kittens are doing fine for now.

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your oriental mommy - I hope that you will be able to find some answers and have some closure regarding her illness and death.

I am so sorry for the loss of your oriental mommy. I think we often second guess our decisions. I hope the kittens do well and you find out what happened to the mom.

Thank You Page and Patty.
With the input they gave me, and I could't stand looking at her suffering anymore, it was the only thing I could do. She was perfectly normal couple of days before, this is the most frightening, the rapidity of her condition going down, now I think about the ant traps I found in my new apartment, did I miss one ?.
They didn't talk about a possible poisening, but I try to look at any possibilities.

I hope I get a clearer picture of what happened and why.

I'm sorry to hear this. Did you get an autopsy done? That would probably also be of help with regards to decisions made. Good luck with the kitties :)

To add to what Per said, your veterinary clinic may still have your queen's body in the freezer. That is, they may if you did not take her home with you for burial. If you contact the clinic immediately, you may still be able to request a necropsy. (In the U.S. an autopsy performed on a cat is called a necropsy. I do not know what it is called in other languages.)

I hope that does not sound heartless to suggest a necropsy. I am deeply shocked and saddened to hear that your girl died. It's just that when something like that happens, I always feel better to have a necropsy. I feel, if I can learn something from a beloved cat's death, the cat did not die in vain. It is particularly important to do a necropsy if you think you may want to breed one of the kittens.

It is unspeakably sad to lose an intelligent, spirited cat like your girl. I know the breed. They are such amazing souls. And to lose one young like that makes it even worse. :-(
