She is a very young cat and it is truly amazing that she survived the night. Now that the immediate threat has been mostly overcome, her youth will hopefully provide her the resilience for a full recovery. And when you add in the power of prayer coupled with the strong bond you have already developed with her....I have high hopes of a full recovery. She may be cute but she is also a tough SV!
Thanks for the kind words... Many times I will play with her little paws and think of how fragile they are and the next moment she has speed shifted into over drive making a 4 foot horizontal leap and keep going... Run things of like a Sherman Tank and not even stop to see what it was... She is very strong willed and that should help her... Everyone at the vet notices how she perks up immediately when I enter the area... So I know (or at least believe) that my company will help her recover... I have been told she my by hyper (more than usual and hard to believe), so I may have to hold her down a little bit.. I would not want her to tear out the IV Port... that could do very serious damage.
If I am reading this report correctly her cardiac arrest occurred after she was given xylazine, a sedative used in horses and cervidae (e.g. elk) and known to cause muscle tremors (which might be interpreted as a seizure if severe enough) and cardiac arrhythmias. Has anyone else ever heard of using this in cats? I'm not saying it's not commonly used, I've just personally never heard of it.

If you have a local Asian store, young coconut water would be good for her. Using an eye dropper and give it to her constantly just a drop or few drops at a time. It's best to go with one drop so it will absorb in the mouth tissues. Google "youngcoconuts.com" drinking/absorbing by mouth coconut water is compared to a blood transfusion. It will help Build up Elsa's system. Read about it ........it's amazing! ITS THE CLOSEST TO MOTHERS MILK U CAN FIND.
