Yes, it is also known as Japanese catnip or silvervine. They are short thick branches that cats chew on. I have never tried them and was wondering if anyone here has.

How did the matatabi sticks work out?

Also just found a fantastic wand string type toy that has outlasted all of the others. With most wand type toys one of them catches it and game over, they just sit on it chewing it, with their claws sunk in. This one is much tougher for them to get or keep a hold on. It called Boinks Bamboozler. Its really tough nylon braid that even gnawing hasn't seemed to make a dent yet. I got mine at PetValu for $7.99. They don't have a photo so I am linking Boinks web page but they are charging $30 for 2.

Worth a look if your kitties go through wand toys like mine do.

I have had this wand toy for Tojo my 3 yr old F4 quite sometime. You are right it is very durable. I have tossed most all other wands. I tied a little stuffed toy on the end of it and it is by far his all time favorite toy along with his crunchy tunnel. I haven't tried it with Naya the F1 7 month old yet though because Tojo would be crushed if she were to destroy it ;)

As annoying as this toy is to us, it is by far Kinaya's favorite. Especially on through the night. Last night she played with it straight for a good hour and a half ;) carrying it around and rolling it to make it talk to her over and over and over again :sleep::sleep:

Exactly my question Paige - annoying or not, I think I'd like to try it out on some of my kitties.
