Very nice. Did the same here. Went thru the whole house prior to Shango's arrival (dusting, cleaning, rug doctoring...and all of the Shango's proofing at Baby's R Us. Overdid things, such as covering outlets, pvc'd entertainment center power cords). Crazy stuff! LoL!
I bet you're excited to get Triton!

The hubby finally went to bed. Yes, we are extremely excited! All I can think about at work is Triton. I keep wondering what he's doing throughout the day, and hope he's as happy to get us, as we are to get him. CC has never been to Las Vegas, or Arizona, so that just adds to the anticipation. Shango sure is beautiful! Love the golden color! How did he enjoy his first walk? From the sound of things, you can't over cat proof a home. Good idea on the outlet covers. Chalk up another thing to add to the "honey-do" list. Lol!

Oh I've been the same way about Whiskey and thinking about her all the time at work wondering how she is and how I'll be when I finally get to the airport to see her. And the minute I saw my income tax refund, I could not wait to get money to Lori. Today I get the word about when she gets spayed and then I should know a little more about around when I can pick her up. Now one question I need to ask is that since Whiskey is 2 years old will I have to do a little less in kitten proofing than I would if she were younger?

Very cool. I'm happy for you guys. You'll enjoy Triton! There's a lot of anticipation until the time you get the cat (I know there was for me). Shango isn't a big walker as of yet. He does act paralyzed when putting on his walking jacket but is slowly over coming this. LoL!

The big thing for kittens is removing the things they might ingest. For older cats it's removing the things they might destroy or knock over. Not to say that things that potentially could be digested shouldn't be removed as well, just that with some weight on them they can move things you wouldn't believe possible.
As fairly well documented our kitten managed to knock over a 40+ lb ornamental cast iron fire place screen. Never would have thought that was possible as 3 other cats didn't manage it in 15 years carrying a lot more weight.
So not sure if you can possibly remove everything that can be a hazard, but start with the small things that can be swallowed and follow up with the things you don't want to be destroyed. The rest will reveal itself with time and outside of nailing everything down there isn't an easy answer.

My classmate's cat used to act paralyzed if she loosely tied a tube sock around it's middle. It would fall on the floor and drag itself around until she removed the sock. Funniest darned thing I ever saw!

Mischief- congrats to you!!! How ironic that Nick and I were actually looking at Whiskey online last evening, discussing our F5 Lyra getting a sister 
. If we were rich, Lyra would have a "few" new sisters!!
I know exactly how you feel about thinking something is going to go wrong before you bring your new baby home. Lyra came to us from a breeder in Palm Springs, CA- we live in very UpState NY. And, as our bad luck would have it, Hurricane Sandy hit the East Coast just a few days before Lyra was set to make her flight from Los Angeles to Albany. Imagine our overwhelming stress when we found out Lyra's connecting flight was in Newark, NJ and the airport was closed down because of the hurricane!!!
Low and behold, and I thank God everyday, everything went smooth and Lyra made it from the West Coast to the East Coast without any issues. Nick and I had gotten to he airport early and were met with Lyra's flight being early, too! We only waited about 15 minutes to meet our new "daughter." Since we don't have children, I can say that seeing her little face inside her carrier and actually signing the papers to receive her as "ours," was one of the happiest days of our lives . Oh, then we had a 3 hour drive home with her!!

Thank you for the well wishes about her. She is very sweet and she is going to be given so much love, it's not funny. See now I'm worried about a snowstorm hitting when she's supposed to fly up...kind of like your situation with Lyra and the Hurricane only on a lesser scale. I thought about driving down to get her because I like the state of Tennessee but then realized it wouldn't be fair to her to travel 12 hours in a car. I really feel that I've made the right decision about a Savannah and I'm like you without any human children so the minute I see her (people are going to think I'm an alcoholic talking about Whiskey all the time) face, I will probably want to cry and clap and scream for joy. And this decision by the way to get her was done with almost a year's worth of research and almost listening to people telling me not to get one but when I saw Ixas and Cinny at the cat show, I just fell in love with the breed and the closer it got to tax time, the more I started seriously looking.
