I suggest buying a variety of toys, I find that my cats are very individual and while one is obsessed with small balls she can play soccer with, and most particularly if they have a piece of ribbon or feather stuck in them so she can throw them as well as bat around... others prefer the chirping mice and others stuffed sheepskin shapes or those roadkill dog toys too...
Until you gauge how destructive your kitten might be, you can try everything. Just monitor them for damage... I personally don't keep foam balls like Rafiki enjoys above, as I would worry about chewing a piece off them. But I have F1s and one will shred styrofoam if she sees it and I just don't want to chance an obstruction. Same for those crinkle balls made of mylar type stuff.
