The meat should have all of the nutrients and vitamins in it, so supplementation isn't necessary unless you aren't planning on balancing the meat itself out (or cooking it). If you are supplementing the meat, just make sure you don't go into vitamin toxicity levels.
found this....
http://www.peteducation.com/category.cfm?c=1+2243

I asked because I am curious about making my own supplement mix, and yes obviously the amount of which is important as well as which ones are REALLY needed, and which aren't.
It's like with canned food that sound like a thanks giving dinner, when they should say - buffalo carcass, chicken remain, sprinkled with cricket garnish... haha :)

say how the muzari has vitamin K,, is that really necessary? what about vitamin C? turns out C is not from the website above...

I think it would be cheaper for me to make my own, and I could make a 5 gal bucket and never deal with this again if I do it right.

I went back to raw, mixing whole chicken, beef heart, and beef liver, while still supplementing with Alnutrin, which I got the meat and bone kind, so I have been adding a little extra calcium as per their age.

UPDATE - She came down last night A LOT! Soon as I move, she freezes. She made so much noise I have to go back out to the living room with the boy...

I brought breakfast this morning, and 5 minutes later came in and she was on the floor, and hopping back up,,, She is beginning to move around a lot which is great, just not while I am there,,, If I am not still...

After the yam, cooked chicken mix they are both dis interested in the raw mix,,, which is too bad, cause now thinking about it, their energy, and personality changed with the raw meat, and they seemed healthier and happier,,, Trying to think of what to add for flavor.... ??

Here is what little I know:

Vitamin K is needed for the blood to clot. It is found in bone. I am not sure what the other sources of K are. The Mazuri for slab meat contains more than the one for whole prey.

Vitamins B12 and taurine are both water solvable so you do not need to worry about giving them too much - the excess will be pee'd away.

Vitamin A can be very toxic. You need to be careful about giving them too much liver. Some liver is excellent, too much is very bad and can attack their liver.

I use Mazuri slab for the chunks of meat and Mazuri whole prey for the thighs ground up with bone. I add Taurine to both just to be on the safe side as I cannot add liver (Rafiki had liver fibrosis issues) and as I stated above, excess taurine does not build up.

Great information! Thank you!! I will probably just use Mazuri for now, but would like to make my own eventually...
Any suggestions on things I can flavor the raw meat mix with? I can't find sardine juice by itself... Saw a video of a guy who put a can of sardines in tomato juice that he said had umari that they likes..? I don't know what umari is and he's in the uk so it's dif here....

I'm concerned about the bones hurting them. I only put the small bones from the wing tips, and the ribs, and spine chopped into small chunks... He got a piece stuck in his throat, and the sound when he squeaked, sounded like it hurt... Something he'll just learn to eat properly? It won't hurt them?

I use a commercial grinder that can handle bones. I did attempt whole prey but I could never get them to understand that it was food and not just a toy. If I give them raw wing tips or chicken necks, they just look at me with very puzzled looks. Food must be ground or chunked and placed in proper bowls for my furkids to understand that it is food.

what about vitamin C? t
Cats make their own Vitamin C, so it doesn't need to be supplemented

They should be able to chew on the bones with no problem. I cut up whole quail and give it to them (removing the lower back, intestines, etc)...the bones won't splinter as they are raw. If you're cat has trouble with them, maybe make them bigger so they have to chew it.

You're okay giving 5% liver, it has to be in high doses in order to be excess in Vitamin A. But if you're supplementing more Vitamin A, I would be cautious as to how much liver you're giving.

The mix I saw and have been using is a whole chicken - roughly 4 lbs meat, 2 lbs beef heart, and 1 lb beef liver.... Is that too much?

You shouldnt have any more than 10% of the diet as organ, so for one pound of liver you'd need 8 pounds of meat. Also is your estimate including bone? That should be about 10% of the diet as well. And 80% muscle meat.
