Trimming nails

just tried that clothes pins things with two or three and he stil moves around and tries to bite...albeit limper reactions but still.....even if i grab him with my hand he still squirms. what am i doing wrong?

Unlike the picture, I need to use 5-6 clothespins on Duma, and they have to be strong ones, and they have to be all the way down. He still squirms, but it's enough to get a few nails at a time. After a year now I can do this and get one paw in a sitting (which is better than 1 nail), but I'm closer to getting 2 paws in a sitting.

It's much easier with a Ragdoll lol

Count yourself lucky! I can handle Duma's feet, do anything with them, even tug on his toenails, tickle him, play toesies, etc and he's fine. The second he sees clippers on the counter, he bolts. I don't even have to have them in my hand. So now I just put the clips on him before I pull out the clippers, I'm so mean lol
That's exactly what Razi does. If I persist, however, he finally gives in and let's me do it.

Keeba is like jello when I cut his nails. No care in the world and I'm so glad he got some huge claws

We have a nail clipping routine. Step one: take out treats and take them to the restroom.
Step two: collect one cat and close restroom door. Step three: give cat treats. Step four (for D and Mickey only): sit on floor, and put cat on lap. Clip nails. Neither care, they lay on their backs purring, so it is a quick process. Step four for Jarvis: Mike holds him and we talk to him while I clip. Step five: more treats. Step six: collect different cat and repeat process.

My vet made nail trimming look so easy, but my kitty seems to get scared by the sound of the clippers. Any tips to get her used to the sound.

How old is your baby?

The one tip I can give you is to trim faithfully every week and your kitten will get used to it.
