What do you know about Select Exotics

Ok you guys are making me feel totally justified now! I wasn't sure if I was expecting too much but surely assumed she would answer me. Can you imagine if for some reason I had an accident and couldn't pick him up? I wouldn't even be able to chat with her about it before.

Call them up instead of email and ask your questions. Don't feel like you are wasting their time or whatnot- you are paying them quite well for their time and to be honest, doesn't matter if it's a $500 kitten or a $5000 kitten- that' just part of being reputable.

First, tail kinks are often genetic (if but caused by a door, etc) and a good breeder would not perpetuate kinks by breeding cats with kinked tails or repeatedly producing tails with kinks.

Second, I really wish buyers would not excuse lack of communication skills with their breeders. What happens when it's something serious and you need help?? That is what your breeder should be there for.

You talk about the facility being clean and that's great, but there are many other nice catteries with responsive breeders who will be there for their cats lifetime. I personally feel that is just as important as where the cat is raised.

To elaborate on this, the after sales support is just as important as the sale. Responsible breeders love their babies and are there no matter what question their buyers have. It is our responsibility to pass on our knowledge to our kitten buyers. It's part of the price tag, or else we would be no better than a pet store selling kittens. I just spent over 2 hours today talking to a buyer who bought one of my kittens months ago. No problem with the kitten, just chatting about how crazy the little buggers are...

I don't think I will. I'm nervous to own an F1 just because of the unknown. My cleaning lady says to me today "so this is your life?" Because of course the two helped her clean everything, well at least they thought they were helping. I usually have them in my office but she got a taste of two Savannah's on my ankles all day. I didn't even notice because it's my life.

To balance this discussion, when my wife or I contacted the breeder, post sale, we got support. My recollection over the years is at least three times we had a question, and all three times, we got an answer.
Even more, we had a contract on a kitten for my son as a gift. We had even visited and saw the very kitten. When the time came for delivery, there was a delay in getting back to us.
Holly herself wanted to talk to us about the delay and would not let the staff release the information. Holly was out of the country at the time.
Turns out, the kitten had a massive seizure and died. Holly wanted to tell us directly and make arrangements for another kitten. I can not fault her for this business decision to wait a few days and make the call personally. This is my experience with post delivery support.
