And I call my kittens by chance (Iris, Quest, Suzy, Quito, Sandy, Grey) - it is simply the name comes into my head and I can't explain why, but I like this way:)

Well, here are our three cats names and their origins,

Kebu Struggling for more than a week to come up with his name (his brother kept the name he had at the shelter, Jester) and my wife wasn't going to allow me to call him Bubbus a nickname he carries until today. Being an NBA fan there was a player named Kebu Stewart entering the draft. Big and lumbering, much like our kitten I asked Trish if Kebu would be an acceptable name and she bought in.

Pixie Our only girl who has the whitest of white coats, a green eye and blue eye which also reflect different colors when photographed by flash (red and green). Incredibly beautiful, she was referred to by a friend as the Marilyn Monroe of cats. Marilyn had become her name for a short while but after finding her way into some glitter and rolling around in it Trish said "look at you, you'er covered in Pixie dust" and of course the name hung on. Oh, and Trish was vehemently opposed to the name I had chose "Skeezer".

Chongo This was one we really struggled with. Trish wanted to give him an African name and pretty much had decided on Zulu. Not really opposed, but to me it didn't really fit as he wasn't so much a warrior as a daredevil. While in quarantine he would constantly get himself into trouble, climbing on things that were out of the scope of where he could get down and continually wiping out trying to jump on things that were beyond the bounds of his athleticism. We would continually say "Uh Oh" as he would get himself into another mess and finally I said "Uh Oh Chongo" which was derived from the Banana Splits Danger Island mini series.

Oh and we recently found these T-Shirts online and had to purchase a couple. First time I wore one to a show, it cracked me up how many adults had their inner child released and had to yell "Uh Oh Chongo", obviously having the same fond memories of the show I did.

Cleopatra- my Bengal looks like royalty, so it was an obvious choice.
Shady- my Manx. I love black cats, and always wanted to name one Shady.
Triton- with all the aquatic images I see in his pattern, there couldn't be a better name.
