What noises does your cat produce?

One of my cats makes a funny chortle sound - the only thing I can compare it to is sugar gliders - very distinct and not cat-like at all.

Funny story, I delivered a boy to his new home a couple of weeks ago where the resident Savannah there has been an only cat for the past four years. When she caught wind of the new guy on the block she gave out a deafening, god awful wail - I'd never heard anything like that before either, except in horror movies. Her owner said "I think that's the first time I've ever heard her say WTF???!!!" :eek:

Taj wails and howls and sounds like a baby! You all have heard him from the video I posted of his sounds.

Zuri growls when anyone goes near her whole prey and sometimes she play growls when the kittens are biting her...

Minou has this growl, when she's got a large chunk o' chicken, that REALLY doesn't sound like it should be coming from her tiny lil' frame... It's weird, Fatty, by FAR, the biggest, makes some of the "smallest" noises ever, but Minou, the tiniest, cutest, darling, most ADORABLE lil' kitten ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH (can you tell who my favorite is?!?!), makes noises that sound like they come from the depths of Hell itself!!!

Brigitte, too bad you didn't record her. I'd love to hear what a dolphin/goat cross sounds like.

Abu has a favorite toy, and he won't let anyone else near it but me (he drops it for me, and expects me to throw it --- most times it is covered in Abu slober, but I digress) ... he has several warning noises he makes when he has his toy, everything from a huff, if someone isn't too close to a very loud deep growl if Zeus goes after the toy when I throw it. Abu has no problem wholloping Zeus if he gets any ideas ...

The noises my F2's make almost cant be described! I didnt even know they could make those noises! My female seems more vocal then my male. Zuree my female sometimes sounds like a newborn when shes upset. Diesel my male has a very deep cry when hes upset. They both purr extremely loud! My male sometimes will purr and open his mouth and make a snort like sound. They also both seem to have different chirps for what they want or need!

Mine makes that noise when you hold him and he wants down. Its a clicky dolphin noise its funny.

Well, I'm a little worried because I have a very quiet kitten. She meows, but very shyly, and has only purred very lightly when she nursed. No throat obstructions,etc. any thoughts?
