Thanks, it just goes to show that level and even siblings doesn't mean much for total size when grown. Trust me the littles ones personality is bigger then anything we could imagine. He's hysterical.

Julie, thanks for posting those pics. It's a great illustration of the mysteries of genetics and the fickleness of Mother Nature. Miracle & Whip are gorgeous. Miri weighs the same as one of my F2s. The only thing we know for sure when we get a savannah, is that the kitty comes packed with a hyooooge personality:)

Deborah, that's exactly what I tell prospective kitten customers about the size question (and I am always asked ;) : that what the Savannah may lack in size, they more than make up in huge personalities :)

Definitely you get variation within litters and siblings, so just having one large cat from a pairing doesn't guarantee ALL kittens from that pairing will grow huge. And being large as a baby kitten doesn't always translate to large adult size.

Glad you have learned though that the littler ones have their own appeal and personality more than makes up for any seeming lack of size :)

Kronos, my F5, is currently 10 months old and 12.5lbs. He is super, super lean, sometimes I wonder if he is too skinny but he eats so much! Surprisingly he isn't too tall, but his muscle is so solid he doesn't look very heavy but then you are surprised when you pick him up.

My Ragdoll stopped gaining weight by the time he was around 18 months (1.5 years) old.

I can testify to this, although I agree it is unusual for a Savannah, and backwards than what most of us see/hear and experience. I was kitty-sitting and had Kronos over all of last week, him and Keljin are the same age and near the same height. Keljin is 3lbs lighter, but dang, Kronos feels so thick whenever I picked him up! Just petting their backs is so different, Keljin feels soft and squishy, and Kronos feels like he is a body builder underneath that fur!

My F3 male "Eoghan" will be 16 weeks next monday and he is probably over 6 lbs now , he was 5. 3 lbs at 12 weeks. His growth rate is really amazing, he's 12" long from base of tail to shoulder and 9" tall at shoulder. I'll get an accurate weight at 4 months, His character I can't get enough of, breeder said they aren't over affectionate and be happy with head butts , my kitten is wrapped around me and is a complete cuddler!!!
