What's the "typical" size...

My F5 N male at 5 months weighs 8.2 lbs is 11” floor to shoulder and neck base to tail base 14” his hind "feet" are 6"
I totally gets the remark someone made about feeling like a body builder under his fur

I've been researching and following threads about weight and size projections for long time. Come to realize that there are no standards. Our F5 SBT Male kitten is 7months. Both parents were on larger size and he was also as kitten. Now he weighs 10lbs and 17 inches long (from chest to his behind at sitting)

and 14 inches across his upper rib behind front legs (just measured him for new harness). I only do that so I know he is getting the protein he needs to compensate for his active energy. He is definitely the same height as my 1.7 year old domestic. Although he is longer and leaner.

That's a well recognized Savannah trait! Does he have a long neck? I'll bet he does.

I've noticed that also. That is one of the true Savannahs traits - a longer neck. Our has it. Especially noticeable when something intrigues him and grabs his attention

I always loved this photo of Rafiki (less than a year old) because it shows her long neck.

I just missed getting an amazing picture of Moggie's long neck the other day. He was sitting in my lap and heard something by the open back door, but the table was in between us and the back door was blocking his view. So he fully extended his neck and turned his head. Hopefully I will get another opportunity to get a picture of his fully extended neck. Even though I see him in action all the time, I was surprised!

All his body parts except his tail are like an accordion. His legs retract and extend depending on his mood. His back length varies at least 2 inches.

And I also notice my camera often makes him look stouter than he actually is. I remember when I was younger I heard cameras add 10 lbs. I think this may also be true for cats!

Couple pictures of my accordian cat I took today. He is checking out some wind chimes and his neck is almost fully extended in one of these pictures, but not quite- or not as obviously as when his neck and body are at right angles. He does seem to have a servaly influence on his body type, though with some uncertainties about his parents, he may get this from somewhere else and have no serval ancestry. I really wish the person I got him from was more responsiive to my questions about his Mom.

Another picture of our Alkin at 7months (F5 SBT) getting super long at 17 inch from shoulders to his back legs. But you would never know it that he's 10lbs with his long and very lean form.
