Why does my cat wait to poop until I come home?

I am sure it depends on the kitty. Not ALL cats are the same.... neither are thier little digestive tracts... nor their nutrician requirements...nor thier preferences in food. Regie is mostly stinky...Kiki is mostly not. They both eat the same food. Zidi smells sometimes. Other times not. Same food all the time. So even the same cat can be different at different times. Like people.

Loki's poops are small but potent and pootys are big and have no smell.. But then pooty eats probably 3 times as much (he's a tubby boy) Loki still eats plenty but considering on kibble he could clear a room. He's always had some gi issues thought. The raw diet solved that problem completely. I also noticed I has zero smell if I skip the krill oil. But the fish oil is so good for him I can't skip it. He doesn't smell nearly as bad as he used to but you still notice it as he's going.

Mickey uses the letterbox in the master bathroom every morning while I am putting on my makeup if I don't close the door.

My teacher told me for humans the smell comes from sugar that isn't being absorbed...usually a lactose. I wonder if it could be similar with animals. Their body isn't absorbing something in their diet for whatever reason, and results in the smell? I don't know

Have you tried flax oil Bekki? It is healthy, and has the added benefit of being fibrous and helping with constipation

That's a great idea Kristin! Why didn't I think of tht I have flax seed at the house I put in my yogurt. I give him acidophillus powder (probiotic ) which helped a lot with his gi problems I think he may have ibs or just allergic to something in a lot of different kibble. The flax would be an awesome idea. Thanks!

No problem, I've been all over the place with Zeddie's GI problems as well. With her, she needed more fiber, which the flax oil helped a lot with. I also put her on a veggie blend raw, which I'm not crazy about but it seems to be doing the trick. She will only eat bizarre proteins like boar and kangaroo too. I think kibble is hard on them because of all the processing their bodies have to break down

I read that kibble is really NOT good for them at all, since there is not much moisture in it. Also there is REALLY VERY LITTLE muscle meat in kibble...if any. It is MOSTLY empty calories.

60% - 80 % of canned is moisture. And good canned has the majority of the remainder as MEAT. Even the low quality canned food.

Oh yeah, I am not a fan of kibble. There are many downfalls to it, but it really rules the market. Canned is expensive, so that doesn't help. It costs twice as much to feed tiger canned than Zeddie raw

I am going to try the Nature's Variety Instinct frozen raw chicken bites to see how the kids like it. If they do, then maybe the kibble will go away. I do so much want my furkids to eat what they need.
