As promised, another picture of Ziggy and Oni together from a week ago:
View attachment 15748
Oni was sleeping in the chair and Ziggy hopped up and settled down for a nap. They stayed there together for over an hour.

Today all three of them were racing around the house. Oni did some hollering, but continued to play.

Oni grooms Jax a bit sometimes, but doesn't much like his long fine fur. So far I haven't seen Oni and Ziggy grooming each other. If that happens I'm closing the book on socialization!

CAPTION TIME!
Oni: They brought out the camera again, darnit.
Ziggy: Why yes they did! Cheese!

I'm half way through my trip to San Antonio, and missing the cats fiercely. Ziggy recently showed his opinion of my trip by taking it out on a still soft pot my wife was going to carve. First he took hold of it through the plastic covering it and flipped it over, then ripped a chunk out of the rim:

Later, he decided to pop out through a hole he carved in a blanket:

I can definitely understand how that pot would taunt a cat and why it needed to be destroyed. Clearly the work of an evil doer with nefarious intent.

What appears to be a simple modified blanket is actually a well reasoned radioactive fall out garment. While the servants have some contempt for his actions, Ziggy sleeps soundly knowing the atrocities he prevented.

I kinda like what he did to the rim of the pot. Maybe she should make some pots for him to get creative with and start a sideline business: Pots by Ziggy. The boy has talent.

A new one for me: Ziggy loves the smell of freshly brewed coffee grounds!
I dropped a chopstick I was using to stir my grounds, and Ziggy started sniffing and then rolling in them. I caught the last (and probably shortest and least animated) of his antics. There were just a few grounds there, and he's never reacted that way to coffee before, that I know.

My only explanation is that he's noticed that coffee is only around when I'm around, and is expressing his joy that I'm back home after a week away (although I got back last Thursday...)
