More like the Jail Breaking Count of Monte Cristo and yelping every time the door on his condo closes. Of course he goes in and out of his own free will all day long when the door is open to take some naps, but close the door and he has an issue about it.

Awwwww, so cute! My 15 year old wanted Kovu to be Monte before she decided he looked more like a Kovu! How tall is he? I am going to try to measure Kovu. He is just shy of 6 pounds at 15 weeks, but still looks all legs. He is tall and thin, he was never a round kitten. He also has the goofiest big puppy paws. People actually comment on their size! If he grows into those we may be in trouble! Kovu's tail is too long, but that's ok, it gives him character. I think Kovu is like Chongo. This kid needs a helmet badly!

Monte measures 9.75" at the front shoulder. I didn't have a recorded measurement of Chongo at the same age, but a reference photo standing next to a ceramic cat in front of the fireplace.

I feel for you with Kovu's antics as I know what it was like with Chongo as well as his predecessor Jester. Both were sought out for those attributes, but it's certainly trying at times. The rumble in the other room and hoping you don't hear the crash before you get there. The tears flowing from my wife's eyes as Chongo or Jester destroyed something that was special to her. Chongo eating the lapels off a few month old suit was totally off my radar. Love him to death, but he sure has been a challenge.

I'll have to look through some of the Monte photos to see it I have a paw shot, not sure that they are exceptionally large but his tiny head seems to make the rest of the package look out of proportion.

I definitely like the name Monte, I also had a black kitten named Monte who is with a wonderful family now! Your Monte is gorgeous, I think we need more pics though...

I'm working on more pictures, just difficult with him being all black and trying to use a phone. It would be much easier with a real camera although to really see what he looks like he needs to be lit as well. Under his chin the fir is pretty sparse and on camera flashes make it show up more than what you would see with your eyes given the dark fur and light skin.

Anyway, I'm working on it, just didn't think I would need to use lighting and do a portrait.

He's not very far away from getting paroled. It's more Chongo than him and despite how much they enjoy playing together, when they start getting tired it always ends up with Chongo scruffing and constraining him. Free Monte up and they are right back at it, no harm no foul.

Once they make it through a weekend when I don't need to intervene, then Monte can have full time free roaming access. Not exactly looking forward to it as right now I get to witness all the time they're burning of their energy.
