Dino at the ER

It's been a week since Dino has been home and he is still pretty tired. His incision is healing nicely, he's getting up and moving around and eating and drinking completely on his own. We had a bit of play time today with a wand toy and he quickly exhibited the ability to exceed the doctors directives.

Dino has always been suffering from a little OCD. He always leaves a marble sized piece of food on his plate. With his GI issues, I was feeding him cooked chicken breasts, later adding in his regular raw mix and his favorite treat food cucumbers.

So this morning I mixed an ounce of each, cubed cooked chicken breast, his raw blend of rabbit, venison and lamb and some cubed cucumber. Watching him eat, I noticed that he would pick through things and eat them in order, cucumber, raw, chicken breast, cucumber, raw, chicken breast, and it continued on like that until there was just a marble sized piece left. Smh.

Dino played like a kitten last night, chasing ice cubes and splashing water from his bowl. I think he finishes up his antibiotics today and 5 more days of lock up. He gets to see his brother a couple times a day, but those visits keep getting shorter as Dooley senses his brother is feeling better.

Dino just continues to be incredibly tired and I'm hopeful getting done with the Ciprofloxacin will help get his energy level up. Looks like the a/b causes drowsiness, which explains some of the lethargy.

Tomorrow is week 4 of this misadventure, a long road and I'm grateful he's made it through this ordeal.

Glad to hear Dino is almost healed up and that this terrifying experience is over and life at your house will soon be back to normal.
