Dino at the ER

Dino is out of surgery, he did well. It seems the infection pushed inward from the incision so there wasn't any issues at the surgical sites. Just happy he's out of surgery and in recovery. I'll be back in the morning to feed him, so I'm hopeful he takes some food for me.

Jeeeeez John. You guys are really being put through the ringer with your boys. Thank God you both are wonderful and dedicated owners and moving mountains for them. Praying Dino heals quickly and your life gets much easier with them and you can begin to relax!!! I worry everyday that Kinaya gets into a situation where she needs medical care because as of today I still cannot pick her up  even though I am able to pet her often and if I manage to scruff her throw in some quick kisses Love 2. I love her so :in love:

Well how does Rodd feel about that and are you accustomed to feeding your friends to your cats:LOL: Get some sleep John

Rodd does what I need him to get done. I'm even having him develop a contextual auto spell checker.

Unfortunately, I'm going to need to entertain a lonely Dooley on my own, so no time to catch up on sleep. Dooley's over night schedule, 11pm medicine, midnight food w/meds, 1am balance of food. Tomorrow morning schedule, 7am medicine, 8am food w/meds, 9am balance of food. From there off to see a grumpy Dino with Rodd and we'll see if we can get some food in him.

Wow what an ordeal! I hope Dino is finally able to come home for good this time and you are able to get some sleep!

How terrible. I would suggest Convenia as an option. Often vets use this just because the cat isn't easy to be medicated but it is an antibiotic specifically for skin infections which seems totally appropriate here. I've used it for a suture infection before. Terrible fortune to have this happen on top of everything but hopefully now that everything is cleaned out he can be on his way to recovery soon. Big hugs!

Yes, everything has been flushed very well, they have rinsed the crap out of the incision area as well as the abdominal cavity. He is on IV antibiotics and they have taken a culture so they can better pinpoint which a/b will work best. Just glad we were so diligent about keeping him hydrated, and what seemed to me as being alarmist being back at the hospital 5x post surgery.
