I copied the photo onto my computer and used Adobe Photoshop Elements (the affordable version of Photoshop)

Hmmm, well in my case the pic is already correct on my computer, but when I posted it to FB it turned sideways...

For windows OS, upload picture to computer. On file name, right click, edit. find the tool that lets you rotate the picture. Rotate it as needed. Save as..... done.

Just an iPad mini and a tired me who couldn't be bothered going downstairs to connect the iPad to the computer and edit from there.

Do you know why the iPad does that? Why it doesn't allow you to post pics in proper position? Everyone I know with an iPad has the same issue.

I don't. I did however hire an Apple Genius away from Apple last week, so I do plan on asking her

Nikki... Are you holding the ipad upside down when you take a photo? The home button should be on the right side...

I don't have problems like that. I have a REAL camera. Digital, but real.
