Long story short, we got him from this lady in OKC whose grandmother was breeding SVs and got put into a nursing home. It was kind of a mess getting him.. She couldn't tell us whether he was an f4 or an f5, she didn't have the papers to give us, and he hadn't had any of his shots yet. We practically stole him from her though, she gave him to us for $300. He seems to be growing into a healthy boy, and he has become just the sweetest thing ever, so I'm happy with him.

Brooke, did you pick this kitten up? I have heard that story before about a grandmother breeding savannahs who was put in a nursing home or died...what you all don't understand is that this woman breeds and breeds the same poor savannahs and then gets many kittens, practically gives them away and many of them are sick or eventually die...this is a BYB and a kitten mill and every time someone purchases from her, that person is helping to aid in the abuse of these poor savannah moms and kittens...

Don't you want to know where your savannah really came from? Who the parents are? If they have any diseases? I mean, did you wonder why this savannah kitten was "cheap"? Do you know if it is really a savannah kitten?

Just ask the girl who came on here months ago, did the same thing you did, and then the kittens died and she was heartbroken...

I'm starting to think a thread is needed with this background info and the area that "breeder" is at. I think this is the third person whose had almost identical story now. And what are we 3 of 5 cats died?

Yes, I picked the kitten up from her, although she had me meet her somewhere else other than the "cattery". I believed her story about her grandmother at the time, she seemed sincere, but after reading the story on here of the woman who had the similar incident I'm not so sure. I think it might have started out that way, but she has just allowed the cats to continue breeding and leaves them unvaccinated and unsupervised for the majority of the time in her grandmother's house.
Regardless, I don't regret taking my kitten from her, I simply adore him. I can only hope he doesn't have any health issues from his irresponsible upbringing and take the best care of him possible.

I'm sure this is a good idea. If nothing else, I'm sure this "cattery" and its conditions need to be looked into.

What I don't understand though, is if she is just in it for the money, then why she doesn't take proper care of them, vaccinate them, keep track of papers, and make thousands of dollars rather than a couple hundred per kitten? She told me that the original mothers were purchased from select exotics.. I just don't understand

Because the kittens are probably not even savannahs for one. And then she can just keep breeding and breeding, not take care of the kittens or cats, so it doesn't cost much to keep them and then sell the kittens for $300/ea and make who knows how much money off sick kittens...no skin off her teeth...she pushes them out the door as early as possible...it is sickening!
