Giardia

Look- you aren't going to be able to disinfect every single surface Themba is exposed to....

The big issue is getting Themba's tummy settled and feeling good again. No one wants a rumbly tummy or constant diarrhea! Do the meds on Themba- if the meds aren't crazy out of hand overseas, I'd go ahead and treat everyone- it's not a huge deal and cats can get giardia from your DRINKING WATER (at least they can in the United States- it is there- look up your local water analysis- it's just typically in such small amounts that it doesn't tend to bother US)- but it's easier to treat everyone once or twice then go over and over everyone by doing it one at at a time.

Don't- for goodness sake- restrict them from something that is enjoyable because of this...

Yes i read that before of the drinking water, don't know how it is here in belguim.
Anyway i have always given my cats bottled drinkwater.

I can still allow them the garden and sees how it goes,
If they doesn't go over it from the first try i can be a little more drastic the second time.

I'm still thinking about covering the most of the house with plastic sheets though.
If i get a little bit creative the house will look like a kill room by tomorrow. :big grin:

But maybe all that plastic and themba unsupervised ain't a smart idea.

So, i throw the litter away everyday ?

I have expensive litter because bollie has sensitive lungs and need to cough for a minute after each visit.
In total for my 5 boxes it's 60euro worth of litter.

So i best throw it all away ?
and use the cheaper one for a month of so ?
It's to expensive to use the expensive one and throw it away everyday.

I'd toss all of the litter. I know you can't do it because Themba is a big LOUD baby, but it'd be easier to quarantine him and only have to worry about one box with possible issues versus all of them while he's on his meds.

Oke this worries me a lot for the moment.

He still has bandage on from the operation.
the vet told me to do it off or she said maybe he bites it off himself.
I have no clue why the vet didn't do it herself.

But themba is very angry now and i can't touch him, he is been licking it but not biting.
His foots are really swollen.
I just called the vet again they say to wait a while because he is still under a lot of stress.
I don't know it is healthy if i wait a day with this, seems like the blood can't flow very good.

Is this something you can wait 1 day with ?

I so know how you are feeling right now as I have been there a number of times, in fact just recently when my DMH had 4 teeth extractions. The fur is shaved off under those blue bandages and the swelling is most likely from the IV from his surgery. It is ok to leave them on for a little while longer.

Oke good,

I'm researching the internet like crazy but can't find any people in the same boat as me.
For most cats it ain't a problem to take them off if you want to.

I read a post about a dog where they say as long the color doesn't change it ain't that bad yet.
I dunno if you can see the color changing in a cat's paw...

Also no blood could lead to muscle tissue dying.

Niels, what are they on there for? I would say you need to take them off, but first I want to kow why they are there in the first place?
