Help assesing F3 Kitten quality

That cat looks like he will have a nice fat tail. Look at my avatar. That cat has a nice fat tail. He is tall and lanky as an adult. I would inquire about personality. That is what makes the cat special. IMO most of us on the boards would say it is the personality that has endeared us to this breed.

Hi Rascaldad, i have been searching for a savannah for about 2 months now and every time i contact a breeder inquiring about their kittens I always get the same personality description.

In terms of size he seems to be growing well, but weight doesn't always equal legs... so a chunky body type will weigh more than a tall elegant body type which is what our breed standard actually prefers. I'm not seeing a lot of leg in those pics but that may be the pictures or the stage of growth he is at... kittens are really hard to judge from a couple of pictures. His ears seem pointy not rounded and not particularly upright...more the Bengal earset which is described as not on top but not on the side of the head. His nose is nice and wide but we'd probably want more nose leather (the hairless part of the nose) so it comes up over the top of the nose more. His eyes are not awful but don't have the boomerang shape we want nor do they seem particularly hooded or deepset like a Serval. His background color is nice and pale and the spots seem large but they look to be already fading if I compare the 8 week pic to the 10-11 week old pics...so I am guessing his contrast won't be great.

If trying to work out what he will look like as adult, look at both parents and know that both will have some influence there.

I think that yes you might want a nice Savannah, BUT there are no perfect Savannahs so your priorities as a pet owner likely are different from a breeder or show exhibitor. Color and size seem more requested by pet buyers in my experience than the rest of a Savannah's type...and as a breeder I am more concerned with type. There are plenty of big cats out there... my British Shorthair neutered male is over 20 lbs.

wow...great insight...I had a question regarding my soon to be little guy, from this pic...does he look to have more bengal ears.....was hoping for the serval ears...tall and on top...he is a F4A.

He is still too small to determine ear placement and size IMO.

I got some new pics today...7 weeks old...during the fuzzy stage, they really loose their contrast and sharp markings..hard to tell he is the same kitten...
