Help assesing F3 Kitten quality

Your boy has similar ears indeed but the color pattern looks much nicer ..
For me that pattern is also a tad Bengally, those smudgy big spots tend to rosette as they grow in my experience... but as a pet that can look really cool! So it totally depends on what you are looking at that kitten for!

hahah...that is why breeder said she preferred not to send me the pics right now...lol
Yes, but you need to see your baby! If she takes a pic from the rear you would be able to see the spots are still there under the fuzzies, but you need to see if the kitten is looking good...see how he is developing and just help you deal with the wait until he comes home!

Brigitte, I just checked your website and saw "Babbage" - He is pefect !
Babbage is a wonderful boy (no I am not biased! LOL!)... his pattern sucks as it is more stripes than spots but his face and body are really nice. He does have a locket though, so his show career would have been nil even if he'd tolerated showing (which he didn't). He's also grown huge for an F5 which surprised me. He's already 16 lbs at not quite 11 months and tall with that. But what makes him great is his personality...he has that charisma. The petsitter says that he "has the personality of three cats"... he's very interactive, very loving. It's going to kill me to deliver him to his new home. My husband convinced me he needs more attention than he gets here competing with the other kitties... but I so want him to stay :-(

About the fuzzies, from what the breeder told me, this fella is going through that period. My quation is how long does it last? from 6 weeks - till 12-14? or?
I think it can depend on the kitten, I've read from some breeders that they can be nearly a year before the coat clears. I think most clear by 6 months though...

I agree..I can describe each of my kittens individually - they are all different with very unique personalities...
Exactly! Maybe it is a matter of how you ask the question...if you ask about the kittens and they give you a generic answer, then ask another question about specifically that kitten. Ask what makes his personality different from his siblings for example...maybe that will get more success?

He does have a bit of a Bengal look to him, have you asked about what cats are behind him? If he's an A then what is the outcross that was used? That will tell you a lot about the influences coming into play here...

Ears are one of the hardest things for us to predict... looking at the parents can really help, if one has fabulous large rounded upright ears then you have a greater chance of seeing those ears grow and move upwards. If neither have great ears, then you have to hope for something in the heritage to pop out there!

I think you said this kitten was 7 weeks old on another thread... so ears "can" move more and grow more after this age but generally speaking I think I'd want a little more at that age. Attached is a picture of one of my F5SBT babies at 7 weeks of age to compare to.

Dad is a Bengal...Chocolate Chunk, mom is Savannah...Jetta
