I agree with Witchy. Some people think it's mean to confine the kitten to one room, but a smaller space is actually more reassuring to the kitten until it gets used to its new home and being away from Mom. Too much at once is very overwhelming and all they want to do is hide. It can sometimes be too quiet also. I like to leave a TV or radio on for them.

That's why I brought her to the living room. It's about the same size as our bedroom and while I"m on leave I can sit in here with her. She came out and explored a little after eating a few bites of food. Then she cam and crawled under the blankets and is sleeping in my lap I think. Not sure, don't want to lift the blanket to see but she is in my lap.

All it takes is patience and little by little, as you are seeing, she will become more trusting and less frightened.
You are on the road to building a loving relationship you will cherish. Rotten, ornery, mischievousness and all!

I think you are both doing just fine. You have to remember that, unlike the kitten you brought home from the SPCA, Nyx was torn away from a very loving, supportive, and secure environment, so not surprising that she is frightened with this sudden turn of events. However, due to your patience and kindness she is already starting to realize that she can also trust you, and that this new life may not be so bad after all...

I agree,. I fell a little bad I couldn't bring her half sister with me but she's still too young. But she'll be here in a few more weeks. Nyx had a long night of crying for her family. I was sleeping in the room with her and eventually fell asleep. I woke up this morning and when I stretched I got a mew of displeasure cause apparently she was sleeping under the cover with me and I woke her up. She let me clip her front claws and I gave her a bite of boiled chicken after each paw. But she bit my finger cause it still smelled and tasted like the chicken, lol. But now she's enjoying a bowl of canned cat food.

Nyx is doing great. She's out cold beside me and was snuggled up with me earlier. She's still skiddish of my boyfriend cause he hasn't gotten to spend as much time with her. Gave her another can of wet food today.i was surprised when I opened it and it had small whole shrimp in it. But she apparently doesn't like shrimp, lol. She ate pretty much all of it. But not a single bite of shrimp. The last picture of her on the pillow is her right now. She's out cold
