Measure you cats!

I see nothing wrong with wanting a big cat...BUT...we need to be very careful these days in how we describe our savannahs because of what is happening legislatively...describing them as tall instead of HUGE works for me...I'm glad that Michelle has taken the stand she has...

I don't know what is going on legally but I think TALL is a great word to describe Savannah's :) I wish Jengo was a little taller but he also wishes I had a higher tolerance for his antics ;)

It is nice to hear it being talked about in a logical manner. Some time you get used to saying it one way and hearing others talk about it makes it easier for me to write something more.... "educated" :Geeky:

Nah, it is cool that you were curious and you measured them, Michelle. I asked one of my f2 owners to keep track of their kittens growth because he was sooooo tall :) curiosity is a good thing!

For my own curiousity, I would like to track my cats length, height and weight as they grow. Personality is the most important trait to me, but I will be honest, I hope both my boys will be monsters, but if they are not, their exotic looks, intelligence, and they way they make me laugh are more than enough for me :drink:.

Ok, so my question is, what is the best way to weight your cat. I'm not sure that stepping on my scale without and then with my cats is the most accurate method, though it is probably the easiest. Is there a fairly inexpensive scale available that can be used to weight both kittens and adults?

Well, I usually use a kitchen scale, Rob, but Abu has grown out of it. He is very very hard to coral into the plastic bowl to get his weight. Hahaha- to say the least! He did behave for once and he's 5 pounds, 8 ounces, as of today. Soon, though- your best bet will be to take your weight and then weigh yourself holding him. Sorry!

You can train your cats to sit on a regular scale for you easy peasy! Both mine will do it for treats. Teach them to sit first on command, make sure they are hungry and use lots of treats and praise, and then start gradually making them touch the scale and sit, and before you know it they will start sitting on the scale for you :)
