Remember also when choosing names that they don't all sound similar...if they are too similar when you call them they won't know which you are calling. Or when you say their name and NO then who are you reprimanding?

It can be hard work finding the right name, but fun too...and satisfying when you land on the perfect one

I let my kids name them sometimes. But I do end up with Sunshine, Lollipop, and similar.

I actually considered leaving Duma's name as Batman lol He is, after all, a superhero!

I am naming mine Miss Tsarina Tigress Meowvski The IV (Zeddie for short).
We got it because we thought she needed an original name and we started with Miss Meowvski but added Tigress in because our other cat's name is Tiger. We got Tsarina because it means princess in Russian and Meowvski sounds Russian, and with such a long name we needed a number, and she is 4th gen.
We were going to call her Zee Zee for short but we are Canadian so we thought it would be funny to call her Zed Zed, which turned into Zeddie, which is awesome because of the meme.
Such thought to go into naming a pet!!

I'll hopefully be in the same boat as you come August for our first Savannah kitten. But if you don't mind I'll share how we came up with our two Bengals names.

With our female I came up with lots of different names, none my hubby really liked. So I kept searching and thought I'd keep with the herb name like my dog Sage. So mentioned Basil. Of course hubby didn't like it. On the same site I found Basil it listed Bailey. So I said how about Bailey. That one he liked. lol Well anytime I hear Bailey I think of Bailey's Irish Cream. So we changed it up some and her named became Baileys Irish Dream.
Now our boy we had the same issue, I thought of lots, hubby didn't like. He wanted to name him Meow Meow or Gremlin (he was an ugly but in a cute way baby). Well poor guy was getting chased around by Bailey one day and my husband said, some day he'll be chasing her around. Light bulb moment I said how about Chasen? He actually liked that. We usually just call him Chase now, but his official name became Chasen Me Lucky Charms. And true enough he's the one chasing Bailey around all the time. lol

Sometimes the right name just comes to you.

I looked at hundreds & hundreds of African names on baby lists and also looked at geographical features on the African continent. Juba Kai is named after an obscure little river in Africa (Juba) and his name means "handsome Juba". Taji means golden even though he's more reddish brown. Maliik's full name is Feyd Panzi Maliik which means "silver grasshopper king" so named for his incredible leaping ability.

Acually since we had Whip first for 6 months before we decided to get Miracle most people who knew us didn't put them together for a while... when we introduce now though its Miracle and Whip and 90% giggle about the food name part.
