Turns out Oliver is actually OLIVIA!!

Haha, something similar happened with my "male" cockatiel Mozart who one day started laying eggs...s/he lived well into his/her 20s, but with another family because I ended up traveling too much back in those days, but I had constant updates and s/he was well loved and cared for.

This is great news, so glad s/he's back with you.

ill keep him in my thoughts. Best of luck and hope for a quick recovery. Having a sick pet is a lot of stress. But I'm sure you being there for him works that much better than medicine alone

And you're surprised that Oliver is really Olivia? ;)

NO! Lol....we have figured as much for many years...we were taking bets on who was the girl and we all guess it was Oliver. We just never wanted to find out for sure because we didn't want to change the name haha

Today Zeddie is off to the vet for an upset tummy. At least this won't cost me a fortune, and I can help with the exam

Our bad luck continues...

Oliv(h)er regressed on Wednesday, and had to go back to Emerg at 10 pm on Wednesday night. They got her stabilized pretty fast, but are now looking to make sure it was just the egg thing, and not a bigger problem that is affecting her immune system. They did cultures and more blood work, which we are waiting to come back before she comes back home, which should be tomorrow.

I took Zeddie to the vet on Wednesday, and they gave her sub q fluids, did X-rays and took blood. Her Xrays showed that she was super constipated. The blood work came back all good. We tried for a urine sample but no luck. She was prescribed lactulose. She was so mopey all night, and just looked like absolute poop (which she was full of)
She puked again Wednesday night, then pooped Thursday morning. She was mopey all day still though, so I took her back to the vet. They gave her a shot to stop the puking and more sub qs. She was mopey all night again.
This morning she seemed to perk up a bit more. She has been eating fine the whole time at least, but she hasn't pooped at all today. I started worrying more and more, so I called the vet and brought her back in. Now she is staying the night on IVs. We took more Xrays which still showed just poop and nothing very scary...but she still isn't passing it. She is getting an enema tonight and tomorrow morning. If she passes anything tonight she can come home, but if she doesn't she has to stay there. If she still isn't passing anything after tomorrow, we have to start looking for a bigger problem. :(

She was super good at the vet...I don't know if I should be worried about that or not. I am just one big worry machine right now, and am hoping and praying Zeddie passes something tonight.

Doesn't seem that way. My dad's business partner found out recently he has cancer, and now my mom's has pneumonia. Both are working extremely hard, and are stressed out already.

I am currently blaming our misfortunes on the neighbour that just moved in...it seems his moving in coincides with our misfortunes :p

I will make sure to send you and your family reiki. And have you looked into digestive enzymes? I'm no vet but when my buns start to get blocked I give papaya enzymes and within hours they are regular again. Maybe ask the vet what their opinion is on digestive enzyme if it would be safe. I have seen cat and dog digestive enzymes with papain in it (enzyme in papaya) I usually get Walmart 10$ large bottle and everyone gets their chewable treat daily. perhaps that would help with bowel movement?
