Now Presenting: Yuki and Yeti

I'm more worried she'll accidentally lock me out of the room, it happens to have a turn-able center lock.

So today is 'NO' day. I am exposing them to things I do not want them messing with and telling them no and moving them slightly away from their object of curiosity or desire. I want to begin the training so I'll be better ready to surrender when they ignore it later anyway. :big grin:

One example was my dinner. I had a plate of pork fried rice and a glass of diet coke I was eating while simultaneously reading stuff on my laptop. The task was to stop them from getting into my dinner, my drink, and on the keyboard at the same time. I won, for now.

Yeti was more of a problem with the keyboard than the food, but Yuki was focused on the food and was getting rapid-fire NO(block) NO(push back) NO(push aside and block) etc. In fact even after I was finished and put the paper plate aside (no good china for this test) little miss sneaky pants kept trying to worm her way to where it was. I kept catching her, but a good high-speed jump would have gotten past any of my defenses.

They had fresh canned food readily available to help, however I know from plenty of experience, cats, like dogs, have to know what their human is eating and test it for us incase it's dangerous (their excuse).

All-in-all, some good quality time spent with the noobz today.

Sounds like Yuki is being typical savannah as far as food goes...Cinny and Ixas climb into the fridge as soon as I open the door...Cinny is relentless when I am making a salad, since she LOVES lettuce and kale...she chomps on the leaves before I can get them into the bowl! She is probably the most relentless about everything out of all the cats, except Taj, who howls day and night to go out.

Oh man...... Azize is relentless too, everything I eat he wants some too! He will either hook a lightning fast claw into it or stick his face in it.... Lol I have to guard my food if he is around!
So far he hasn't found anything he doesn't like ;) I'm such a pushover.......

Welcome to my world :)
Jarvis and me didn't start bonding until he was about 6 months, and we bond with food and play.
He got a whole American wagu filet last month. He was cute, and happy and purring in my lap, and I just fed it to him, one bite at a time while my 17 pounds of SV snuggled, purred and kneaded In my lap ( he had never kneaded in my lap before).

Savannah Super Cat
Door Darting Duo. (now in 3D)

The two SVs have become anxious to get out to explore and play beyond the confines of the safe room. This morning when I was going in to feed them, they both tried to get out. They were so insistent that I had to pick them up until I could get in and shut the door.

I can't blame them, if someone locked me in a small room for a month I'd be trying everything to get out.

Dirty stinking ringworm. Looks like Yuki might have it starting on her ear. I've begun treatment and tomorrow night I plan to bleed to death when I try giving her a bath.

No pun intended (ok, a little pun) when I say I am beginning to feel rung out.

And in the world of cat relations it is now Paz that is doing the hissing and growling. Took me a while to realize it was him since he has never done so before and it is very quiet. After the ringworm is more under control I will be borrowing baby gates from a friend in order to make things easier for cat familiarization.

Awww Tort, I'm so sorry that you're still battling the ringworm. It is exhausting tending to animals when they need medical attention. Are you able to give yourself some down time? Maybe chill with Paz for a few nights to give yourself a break from the Dynamic Duo and to give Paz some undivided attention? Could be that he's feeling a bit churlish because he senses that you're feeling rung out and shortly to be anemic. He just might need his daddy all to himself for a bit.

Just about how long do you think you can outsmart them? Hmmm?
