That was a Rude post and I Apologize for it, I didn't have all the facts and should not have posted, I am very new to this site and will be careful in the future . I don't know what I was thinking at the time

Just proves that you are a human being. :)

I can attest that myself and everyone I have met has at some time or another unintentionally been rude or insulting to someone else. Very cool to see that acknowledged by your apology. :)

Now back to the cats. Xcell, show us another picture of Ayrad please!

Any man who can apologize and rethink his words is a-okay in my book :) Most people will never take a moment to consider someone else's POV. Such a shame in this world.

I don't think you can use a one approach is appropriate for all approach here. Comparing a Savannah living in an apartment to a tiger living in a crate is a bit of a stretch don't you think? I have placed many kittens in loving homes ranging from apartments to 4,000 sq. foot homes. The size of the home does not dictate the quality of life they have. Attention, care and interaction with their owners are key factors to the cat's physical and mental well being.

I also am both shocked and saddened that you are a member of HSUS. While I think everyone here is 100% in support of animal welfare, that is not what HSUS is all about, nor it that where they dedicate their vast financial resources. Given their way, you and everyone else will not be able to purchase a purebred. Can I ask why you support them?

I researched HSUS and am no longer a supporter of them after seeing the facts. I joined HSUS after Hurricane Katrina and saw on them on the news rescuing pets also app. 2 miles from my house was until recently L&L Exotic animal farm, between me and them is woods and farm land, at dusk I could go out on my deck and hear big cats roar and this was every day ,it didn't bother me until a friend who was Copley tsp. zoning comm. at the time she told me to be carful around my house due to the rotted wood fence posts holding the big cats and there would be an escape, here is my proof http://911animalabuse.com/l-a-l-exotics/ my friend tired for years to get this shutdown and the link above is a very watered down version of the real truth. I have driven past L&L and seen a female lion in a chain link dog run with no water in the summer sun later the day she was still there and it was to small for the skinny lion to stand up in. at the time when I joined HSUS I thought they were doing more good than harm , the lion in the dog run still stays in my mind , [ I did call the police and the lion got water] Copley Police did kill a tiger at this site due to a attack . we have 2 savannah cats and spoil them to no end .

There was a time, very long ago, that they were about Animal Welfare. There are things HSUS does that I agree with at times....stopping legitimate abuse, pushing to end "soring" of TWH, etc. Thing is, the few examples I gave are all about animal welfare and proper care, not inflicting unnecessary pain. Similar to my views on hunting. If someone hunts to eat and feed themselves or their families then I am fine with that. I staunchly oppose trophy hunting and canned hunts which is pointless killing IMO.

Totally get why you joined, just like so many other people, you thought you were supporting something good and doing the right thing. There is no greater travesty than HSUS spending all that money on anything other than helping shelters & rescue organizations, funding spay/neuter clinics and educating the public. I'm glad you took the time to read more and understand what really goes on. :)
