I'm sorry to hear that Sahara has a cold. Were you expecting that? You never mentioned any sneezing or runny nose or eyes. Ronaxan (doxycycline in the US) is an excellent antibiotic and treats most of the major bacterial upper respiratory infections. As for her behavior in the carrier, that is typical cat behavior so don't be discouraged... she's already over it as I'm sure you know :)

Hi Patti,

You're right she is over the vet experience I woke up this morning with her licking my hair.
The reason I didn't mention the sneezing and eye watering is because it happened suddenly and also I knew she had a vet appointment coming up and thought I'll just speak with the vet.

Breeders frequently refer to cats as 'virus factories' -- they are sooo prone to getting infection sometimes even just the stress of traveling to a new home is enough to lower their immune system and trigger illness - one (of several) of the very important reasons that we always insist on a quarantine period, especially if there are other cats in the new family. I'm sure the Ronaxan will take care of Sahara's cold

Patti,

Happy new year. Sahara is a lot better and she has stopped sneezing. We don't have any other animals in the house but she is still in quarantine.
