Savannah Cat Eyes

Here's a few pics of eyes I consider pretty close to the standard, especially the first pic of an F3C. The second cat (F7A) has nice hooding, but I feel his eyes are too big and a bit too round on the bottom. The eyes in the 3rd image are very good; this is an F7SBT. The 4th pic is an F4C, while I love her hooding (not that great in this shot), her eyes are too turned up at the corner...almost an Oriental look.

Feel free to critique :)

I think the first pic is the closest. I put the pics side by side with the standard above...the third is nicely shaped on the bottom...JMO

I thought this may be a good time to do a bit of savannah cat education so we can all get up to speed on the Savannah Cat Standard. Please post photos of just eyes here, so we can critique and learn. The eyes do not have to belong to your cat...

The Savannah Breed Standard for Eyes is as follows:

Medium sized and set underneath a slightly hooded brow. The top of the eye resembles a boomerang set at the exact angle so that the corner of the eye slopes down the line of the nose. The bottom half of the eye has an almond shape. The eyes are moderately deep set, low on the forehead, and at least one eye width apart. Tear stain markings are present along and between the eye and the nose. All eye colors are allowed and are independent of coat color. View attachment 1233
The one on the bottom is too round IMO.

I am curious. When checking out a kitten with thoughts of taking it home, can one tell at that age (is it 10-12 weeks?) if their eyes are the desired shape? Of course, when I get to buy a Savannah, I will surely buy the one I fall in love with regardless of eyes tri big grin: but just curious.
