Savannah Cat in Detroit Needs Rescued

So let's look at the facts...the cat was killed last Thursday before the media reports, so the media is not really responsible for the cat's death...they are however responsible for inaccurate, ridiculous reporting...

This poor baby had been missing since last fall, as far as I know...

But the point is that a 25 lb cat is hardly "huge" or "scary" or "threatening." I know, I have one. You're mostly in danger of being sat on and smothered with kitty kisses. When I think of the idea that Duma could get lost and get into Oakland, where he could be shot by some ignorant a-hole with a gun....

I understand that and agree...what I am saying is we need to look at the facts and there is a lot more to this story...the media hype after the fact, is totally wrong...but that hype started AFTER the cat had already been shot...

This is a highly emotional story and I am trying to get some of the facts straight...

FYI, I edited my original post and apologize for misleading the forum.
Edit.(again!)
I did some searching. There seems to be a lot of news commotion around August 24th. A lot of unnecessary speculative hype creating local hysteria. On this point, I am disgusted.

Sorry for my rant earlier. The level of ignorance and lack of curiosity displayed in situations like this by some just gets me fired up.

And I agree with Rascaldad about the media. Their pro-sensationalism just sets up future lost Savannahs for more of the same and through that to people pushing for anti-Savannah legislation.

That is true, but we at this point, we are not going to be ale the change the media, so we have to get our savannahs out there in a positive light...many are now spreading the word about the savannah and friends video

Honestly I have always worried about that, whenever I have a beloved pet that looks in any way "exotic" or unusual. Because there are lots of aholes with guns, and also thieves who would want to steal and resell your pet.... It is a worry. Call me cynical but I feel people have less compassion and integrity now than they used to. So just microchip your pets and don't let them out of your sight I guess :(
And on a related note, after reading the whole story on Facebook, I am a little speechless. I cannot imagine the heartbreak of watching someone fish your beloved dead savannah out of a trash can. I would never be right again.
