Self Regulation?

I'm actually kind of worried about my F2's growth so far. He's 3 and a half months old and still under 3lbs. Been feeding him 3-4 times a day strictly a raw chicken diet from Feline's pride. (Chicken is the only flavor he and his brother seem to like) Sometimes i add a whole drumstick or a chicken leg. I add nutritional supplements as well. He eats almost as much as his 6 month old F4 brother who is almost 8lbs and is showing really rapid growth. Waiting on a serious growth spurt I guess.

And by the way, I have a 73 LT Camaro, completely original and matching #s and I have a 69 Chevelle SS L78 all matching #s as well. I also do a bit of racing a in a Porsche. Looks like there are some interesting cars on this forum as well.

Yes, actually pretty much all cats need extra supplements to a raw diet, unless you carefully manage the muscle meat versus organs to make sure that you have the correct balance, there are raw diets on the internet to refer to. Else, I use Mazuri supplements that come in two formulas, one for "slab meat" and one for "whole prey" . I also add extra Taurine especially when one of my girls is pregnant. Taurine is something they will just excrete if they don't need it, but is so important in many ways to them.

I have the Muzuri for whole prey although I order from Feline's pride. I chose that one because it said its for diets that include bones, which the feline pride formula includes. I wasn't sure if I made the correct choice. Also does it have enough taurine in it or is it recommended to add taurine on top of whats in the Mazuri?

How much under 3lbs? My general rule for my kittens is a pound a month is good, anything less and I do tend to pay more attention. But if everything is good, he's eating well and pooping good...then he just may not be a huge F2 boy. You can always take him to the vet and do any checking your vet recommends...although at that age I am guessing it wasn't so long ago he would have been there for a vaccination?

Sadly, our household is a new car one... BMW X1 and 1M. Fun but not so cool (my husband would kill me for saying that about his 1M, LOL!).

I believe the Mazuri is formulated for small exotic cats which means it probably does have a good taurine level already. Never hurts to add more taurine though, it will just pass through if they don't need it. http://www.revivalanimal.com/Fel-O-Taurine.html is not that expensive and I think would last you a long time with just a couple cats to supplement.

He's 2lbs 13 oz as of exactly one week ago. I haven't weighed him since then. He's 3 months and 3 weeks old. He is eating well and he's playful but not as crazy as his f4 brother. I should mention that he and his brother are coming off a bout with ringworm and a respiratory infection, both of which he has medication for.

By the way, a 1M is super cool and rare. Great track car.

Hubby is sad he hasn't gotten it to the track yet. We went to Germany last October to take delivery of the X1 (we live in San Francisco) and drove it up to Nurburgring...so he did get a track day, just in the wrong car ;-)

If he's been through medication for ringworm and a URI, then that could well explain why he's not grown as much as you might want... have you been giving him a probiotic to help his gut recover from those meds (if he was taking antifungals they are really rough on their digestion)?

Nurburgring is amazing, I hope one day I'm lucky enough to tackle it. Track season is just about starting and I'm getting ready for it.

The side effects from the medication was a concern my Vet had, but both of the cats are eating really well and are active. They've been back to the vet a few times for lime sulfur baths and to get checked up so I'm guessing he isn't worried about it. They are due back again this week, I'll get a new official weigh in and see what they think about his weight.

It was fun enough... sadly I was still recovering from food poisoning in Venice and a bit queasy from driving the Passo di Gavio and Passo del Stevio on the way from Venice up to Nurburg :-( Still, I managed to hold on with one hand and film with my other with my lil point-and-shoot for our entertainment I did NOT feel up to driving myself, too queasy and too many aggressive drivers in faster cars for my liking...

I'd think giving him time once his treatments are over will likely see him bounce back, those lime sulfur baths are harsh stuff :-(

That sounds pretty nice! As for my Chevelle, it didn't have the original motor when I bought it and knowing there were a ton of them made I built a 454 to the basic LS6 specs, with some more modern valve train components, the same heads and compression ratio. It's definitely a heavier car than a Corvette, runs in the high 12s in street tires but with a higher trap speed. Good fun, but I just don't mess with it all that much anymore as the value went through the roof. All stock appearing on the exterior and interior until you open the hood.

Since this is my thread, I'll take the liberty to make ONE more post OT, and that's it.
