I don't think the psyllium husk would change the flavor at all, and wouldn't want to add that to the inulin they have in the new food. Adding sardine oil on top of the fish and cod liver oils would make me nervous as well. Plus what you are looking at I is sardine and anchovy oil which would taste different I'm sure. And it says it is unscented so might not tempt him to eat it. If it were me I might just try blending up some tinned sardines in water until it is a paste and add a small amount to the turkey and see if he will eat it. Then try to taper off of the sardine paste once he is eating it better.

I'll pick up some sardines tomorrow and try blending some to mix with the turkey. I'm not too worried yet since he's still eating his S&C Duck Duck Goose, Fresh is Best treats and a little Weruva pumpkin lickin chicken... more licking up the pumpkin soup than eating the chicken

My sister had some frozen Primal Rabbit Nuggets and brought me a couple nuggets to try... Shango wasn't interested in the 1st nugget I offered to him. Not too surprising though since he stopped eating them a while back which is why I had switched to Darwin's in the first place. I might still try some Primal turkey along with some different varieties of Rad Cat and S&C frozen... hopefully he'll end up liking at least one of them.

The freeze-dried S&C Duck Duck Goose comes out to about $32.43/lb so that's definitely not an option since Darwin's turkey was only $5.95/lb after shipping.

With most freeze dried foods you are going to need to rehydrate and the water content should end up at 70-80% of the weight. Likely bringing your cost per pound down to the $6-7 range.

Rafiki liked the S&C but only dry. She hated it when it reconstituted. So for me, this could only be used in small quantities.

Unfortunately, Shango is like Rafiki with S&C and prefers it dry. Yesterday I was able to get him to eat maybe 8 pieces that were re-hydrated, but mostly he just wanted the dry S&C and Fresh is Best. He is good at drinking lots of water when he's done.

For breakfast today he had a buffet to choose from... Darwin's new turkey formula, Darwin's new turkey mixed with sardines, Primal Rabbit nugget, S&C re-hydrated duck duck goose and S&C dry duck duck goose. So far the only thing he ate was the dry S&C. The rest are now getting tossed since they've been out for a while. You'd think I was feeding a house full of cats with all the plates I had out instead of just Shango.

I know... people can never accuse me of being a picky eater again, Shango is 100 times worse

He won't eat very much Weruva so that's why I only gave it to him as a late night snack right before bedtime. Sometimes he'll eat the entire 3oz package, other times he just licks up all the pumpkin soup and eats maybe half the chicken. Yesterday the little brat wouldn't even eat the chicken and just licked up all the pumpkin soup. I've also tried the Weruva chicken with gravy in the cans, but he won't eat any of that.

Occasionally he'll also eat some of the limited ingredient Nature's Variety canned in turkey or rabbit, but I'm lucky if he eats an entire 5oz can before he's tired of it and then he won't eat it again for several days, sometimes weeks. I've also tried some other wet foods by Wellness and Merrick, but no luck with them either.

He's never liked dry kibble and stopped liking the wet foods as well once he discovered the wonderful world of raw. It was almost like he'd only eat the wet because it was something different once a day as a snack, but he won't eat it as his primary diet. I think I'm definitely going to have to find a raw food to replace the Darwin's since I can't get him to eat enough wet.

Yes, but he doesn't like rabbit anymore. He used to only eat Nature's Variety limited ingredient rabbit wet and frozen raw Primal rabbit nuggets and then one day decided he no longer liked rabbit. I then got the Darwin's trial shipment and discovered he was a turkey boy... he didn't care for their chicken or duck.

I also tried Nature's Variety rabbit & chicken raw, but they both made him throw up so I don't plan on trying them again in the search of a new raw food.

Ah OK, I was going to suggest trying the ground rabbit from Rabbits4U.com. They have some ground blends too. My cats love them, but they LOVE rabbit!
