Alish's cat does not have TriTrich and is doing better...I never thought her kitten had TriTrich...I think you are mixing up Alisha and Breanna - two different situations...her vet has recommended a change in diet and I would definitely go along with that. There is no reason for her to treat with ronidiazole...Breanna's kitten is an entirely different story...yes, I would treat again with the medication if my cat had tritrich but Alisha's cat does not and did not.

Alisha, just follow your vet's advice...

If the breeder reneges on the contract (out of communication etc is exactly that) then buyer must consider him-/herself free to do as he/she wants. So in my opinion, Sue, you should inform the breeder by mail (keeping a copy, or even better cc-ing someone you trust) that you require an answer from him by a certain date or you will assume he is not interested in supplying you with a stud/breeding. Repeat mail after a few days if no answer, or call and remind, and if no answer declare contact null and void on that point due to breeder reneging, and go ahead! At least that´s what I would do, and expect someone to do if I should not fulfil my part...

I have talked to Patrick Kelly, filed a complaint with the State of Florida, talked to TICA, sent information and copies of paperwork to 3 regional directors. Prior to the complaint to the state, I sent a certified letter that was never picked up. One of the directors suggested either giving up and have her fixed or attempting to sue in small claims court. If she has moved and I think she has since her response to the state was five months late and said"thought this was mailed, we have moved recently" then how do you sue? I also don't think that I could locate someone with a male that will breed since I do not have registration paperwork. I really don't know what to do. Sue

New update for me too. Kronos' GI PCR Panel came back negative for everything. It checked for tritrich among several other things that cause GI upset.

My vet has advised me to try a hypoallergenic food and she can refer me to a specialist. She said a specialist would want to look at his gut through ultrasound and also perhaps take a biopsy of his colon. Yikes.

Recently his poop is actually doing better. It is firm at first, but then when the end of the poop comes out it is mucousy. There is no more blood, and he never actually dripped feces like Keljin was. I'm hesitant now on whether or not to treat with ronidazole.....

Couple things if I'm remembering properly -

First I would go forward with the treatment. Everything you have shared is indicative of it... and you have confirmation from someone else that their kitten, from the same breeder, had it.

Second, as previously mentioned there was not enough time lapsed since any other treatment. It could easily be a false negative.

You didn't get papers? Even if you were contractually obligated to use one of her males, you should still have the registration for your girl. I don't understand how this was structured in a contract that you wouldn't get papers on her. You are correct though... not likely to get stud service on a registered female, let alone one that isn't. Is there anything in your contract about venue for court? If not, I would file locally and force the breeder to come to you.

Lori, this is NOT the same case...Breanna is the one with the kitten from another litter...Alisha's kitten did not have symptoms of TriTrich. Breanna's did.

Please forgive my ignorance---but what is TriTrich and is it contagious? Sounds really nasty. Please don't take offense because I'm not judging here---but isn't there something the breeder could have done to prevent or treat this condition? I mean why did he/she sell a sick kitten?

It is a intestinal parasite. The breeder may not have even known as often a basic fecal test would not detect it. If the breeder noticed that the cats and kittens had the runs, yes, they should have done a fecal PCR test (which is expensive but is the way to figure out parasites even when they do not show on the basic test).
