I'm very happy to hear the source of his problem was found! Prayers he heals quickly and without further ado!

I hope you can rest easier tonight, knowing he is in good hands and the road to recovery...glad you took him back in to be checked again!

You are very lucky they removed it in time. I had a puppy who was my heart and soul and the vet refused to do a barium swallow because he was 'too busy' and he talked me into believing that it wasn't a blockage (I was pretty sure it was-- I brought a toy the puppy had chewed to pieces in to show them) and after the meds-- like you were using-- did not work, I brought him back in and demanded surgery. They opened him up-- found a piece of a CAT WAND in his intestines, closed him back up and he died the next morning. (The follow-up to that story is I brought my baby to another vet-- they did a necropsy and infection had already set in from the blockage being there soo long-- however, he had very clear blockage symptoms that were severe-- unlike your baby, he could not eat, could not keep much water down and had the most foul puke/diarrhea.)

Blockages are very serious and the chance of one should never be taken lightly.

Hope your boy recovers swiftly and is in your arms asap!

So relieved Alex. I know it was a bad day for you. Now you can rest knowing Cyro is on the road to recovery. I will rest better too. :) Sending recovery energy to him.

Thank you all for your support! It has been a hard past couple of weeks, but hopefully things will be better now. The tricky part is going to be keeping Cyro still for the next few days. Also, I'm going to have to get more creative with toys I can leave out for him to play with unsupervised while I'm at work.

I am so glad to hear that your vet decided to proceed with surgery and found the culprit causing the blockage! You have mentioned several times that Cyro loves to chew and eat his toys - I would strongly suggest that you NEVER leave toys out for him unsupervised so that you can avoid going through this again! If you think he needs entertainment while you're at work, try putting on a cat sitter video while you're gone. There are also devices that you can set up to not only watch Cyro on your Android or iPhone while you're at work but talk to him as well, maybe something like that would work well for him.

The cat sitter video is a neat idea ... but I don't have a TV (just use my laptop for tv shows), so don't exactly have anywhere to play it for him. Hard plastic toys should probably be ok ... he has the Kong figure 8 toy with the two balls inside, and enjoys that ... but maybe 1-2 other indestructible toys would also be nice
