Dino at the ER

Hi where can I find the EZ soft collar?
Your vet should have them if they are available in your country, otherwise you can Google them online and see if they are available anyplace that will ship to you.

Just a quick note, the JP drain bulb had about 20% puss in it. While some is to be expected, we went to the ER at 5am, they grabbed a sample and have admitted Dino. Culture should be done by this afternoon, and we will have a better direction. In the interim he is getting fluids and the same IV a/b he had post surgery. The incision still looks good, we just need a targeted a/b to get this wrapped up.

Ok, they did a small procedure to drain out some fluids and in all there was about a tablespoon of puss. They made a small incision to release some fluids, pulled the drainage tube as the new a/b should be ready to go in the morning.

The better news is that I was there not long after they reversed the sedation, and Dino veraciously ate 3ozs of food. SVDad believes he's building up the wall to fight off the infection that the meds didn't. Me, I'm not so sure, just glad Dino is heading the right direction this evening.

OK, just got word that we have the magic poison dart to take care of the two types of bacterias that are in Dino's system. I don't know what the bacteria's names are so I will just call them Creep and Crud for the time being and certainly find some solace that they will soon meet their maker.

The antibiotic used, Ciprofloxacin was something not normally stocked at the hospital as it's primarily used in humans so I will be picking it up as soon as possible, likely right before my afternoon Dino feeding. Mike and Brigitte might be able to fill in some details about the a/b.

Thanks for all the support!
