Brigitte, what process do we use to register a cat if we don't get a blue slip from the breeder and/or if the breeder is no longer in business and was an airhead and didn't keep good records?

There is NO process without the breeder's cooperation :-(

Only the breeder of the cat can register the litter with TICA... there is a rule that is rarely enacted whereby theoretically you can take your cat to a cat show and have three judges determine it is of a specific breed and sign a form to that effect, and that will give them a foundation registration for that breed. But in all practicality most judges are very reluctant to sign any such thing. Mostly because it is people that might wish to get around the fact that they bought the cat as pet and want papers to breed it. And you might expect they need the cat to be a PERFECT example of the breed standard too...

I didn't get any papers with my baby, because the breeder said I would have to register her myself if I wanted to. However she registered the litter and gave me the litter and kitten number if I wanna register her? What does this mean, I'm confuse haha
If you have the litter regisration number and the kitten's number you should be able to register her by going to online.tica.org , creating an account, then click on Registration on the left, then Start Cat Registration from a Breeder Slip and then follow the prompts.

This is true of the Championship breeds like the Savannah, many judges are more lenient 01T'ing the new breeds - in fact I have seen some 01T a cat that looks nothing like the breed it was supposed to be :-(

The owner is actually showing the one with the rex coat, but not the one with the oriental head and long tail...

What I was told was that judges are pretty lenient with the new breeds because they realize these folk are working to create a new breed and need to bring in new blood to help with the lines. With Championship, as you said, they worry that someone is trying to get a cat papered so that it can be bred when it was sold without breeding rights.

The rex coat comes from the Mojave Bob.

I was told even when we were in new breed that judges wouldn't sign off on an unknown as a Savannah... maybe because of the "hybrid" thing, I don't know.
