GPS Tracking?

All three of these devices look like they could work well. However since they are all GPS driven devices I am assuming they will all need a monthly data charge, even though only the KYON device mentions this (that I could see). I think it's important to know how much you will be shelling out monthly, as well as the up-front cost of the device. As for putting a collar on Shango, perhaps you could instead attach it onto a walking jacket or harness (sew or zip tie it?)

Yes, they will all have monthly fees.

Paw Tracker - Memebership Fee is $9.95/Monthly or $99.95/Yearly
KYON - $4.99/Month
Buddy - looks like they don't know yet... "Buddy GPS will require a SIM card in order to track your dogs whereabouts. At the moment we are working out a deal with a variety of telecommunication companies around the globe to see if we can strike up a good deal for our customers. For our Indiegogo fans Buddy will be unlocked so you will be free to use a provider of your choice!"

This is probably my favorite since it's designed for cats (http://www.pettracer.com/en), but there's no release date. Right now I'm leaning towards the KYON. Since the KYON isn't scheduled until November (and that could change) I'm hoping the Pet Tracer gps cat collar will have an update by then on a release date. I really do like the safety buckle and it's lighter.

I'm not sure attaching a collar to the walking jacket would work well for Shango. It'd be kind of bulky and he still occasionally likes to bite at the leash, he's getting better at leaving it alone though. I'm thinking the collar would be fine as long as I only put it on him when walking him outside. If the worst happens and he somehow gets off the leash, I will immediately be tracking him so hopefully I'd find him before he had the chance to get the collar caught on anything.

Ugh the kyon release date has already changed from November 2016 to end of December 2016... I'm glad I didn't pre-order.

I did look into the pawtrack, but the 3G version has been out of stock for a while. For only $25 more than the 2G version, it works with both 2G & 3G. The 3 day battery life is ok, but the new gps collars have much a much better battery life... if they ever become available to purchase.

I guess I'll just keep waiting and eventually the 3G pawtrack will be back in-stock or even better, one of the newer versions will be released. I was really starting to like all the features the kyon offered.

Kyon has already changed release from end of December 2016 to end of January 2017 (n). Seems like every month, their release date gets pushed farther & farther back. I think I'm beginning to give up on this company and I was originally so excited with all the features the collar offered.

That's a bummer, but you have to wonder what's going on with them that they keep delaying the release...

Your are fortunate to have found him not too far afield. Good to know he is home safe.

Does anyone know if there is a microchip tracking app for smartphones?
Wow! That would be AWESOME❗️❗️❗️❗️I'd buy one ....FORSURE!

I was thinking of possibly attaching a Tile onto the collar. The company just released a slimmer model. Just a thought.

Here is another tracker I just came across - it's for dogs and looks a bit clunky, but if a Dachshund can wear one a Savannah probably could too. I have to admit, it has a lot of bells and whistles...
