How much to feed as they grow

Miracle of miracles ... Abu has met his match ... he actually left some food, it seems as if a 5.5 oz can of food is a little too much for one sitting ... I give it a half hour and he will be back for the other half oz (at most). LOL ;)

Mine never eat a 5.5 oz can at one sitting...I think cats have small stomachs and eat small portions at a time...I guess that would be depending on size, of course ;)

I figured it would be a bit much. I had originally split the can for Abu and Zeus. Zeus wasn't intersted, and Abu was looking for more. So instead of having Zeus' share go to waste (which happens about half the time he is very finicky (sp?) eater), I gave it to Abu (who seemed very happy to help) LOL. As you all stated before, a cat won't over eat so didn't see the harm in it :)

Their empty stomachs are allegedly the size of a quarter. When Maliik was going through a growth spurt, he was eating a pound of food a day and he never showed a bulge. I still can't believe he fit that much food into his tummy.

I am going to change the diet of my Savannahs and kittens to Raw. The always are hungry. Not sure if they are truly hungry or they are getting the begging from our fat house cat Bette. She will yell for more food while she is eating. She is a big butter ball.. :)
We feed the Savannahs the canned food Zupreem.
Hope this raw diet works.

I think that is a great idea...I have run the gamut with food - raw, whole prey and canned...right now Zuri is on canned kitten food because I want to be sure she gets enough of the nutrients she needs...and as much as I love to feed raw and believe it is better for all cats, I just cannot be sure she is getting what she needs with raw - I can only guess...and I don't want to take that chance.
