Male cat urinary blockage

And he peed in his box overnight? I am glad he seems much brighter...and I am sure having him sleeping with you until noon was so nice!

I think my only problem is him wanting to make up for the lost
weight. He is curled up on my bed right now taking a cat nap :cool cat:
I may try and let him stay the night. All I need to do is move a
box and water dish and see if I get ANY sleep.

P.S. I think I got some cute photos of Bella today with the new toys

We may be back in trouble. He is having some pain and acting unwell.

I can't loose him.

I am so sorry Sean, and of course it has to happen during a holiday. I hope it all works out without any serious complications :-(

Hang in there Sean, these issues can take a while to track down. Best to get him back under a vet's care, especially if he is showing signs of blockage or dehydration.

Keep in mind that these issues are also more frequent in young male cats and subside with age. Also ask the vet about administering fluids at home via IV. It's not that tough and ends up diluting the urine.

Hope all gets better soon.

Well today has been better. I hate to do it but I think he will have to spend the night in the bathroom
by him self so I can make sure that he is using the box. He seems to not have any pain like lastnight
BUT he is not his normal happy cat self. I hope that is just me in panic mode. He also doen not have
the hard full bladder like he did when this first started.

Thanks for the support
Sean

It would be hard NOT to go into panic mode with this. Many years ago my very first Savannah was diagnosed with a really serious heart valve defect... and since then we've known he was living on borrowed time. Especially in those first months post-diagnosis, any time I came across him sleeping I'd freak out thinking he wasn't breathing. If I couldn't find him I assumed he was dead somewhere. I counted his breaths per minute religiously and worried if it was too high. We have water fountains all over the house because I wanted to encourage him to drink (because he takes diuretics). We've been fanatical about his medications, even though he is one of the hardest cats I've ever had to pill and he still (nine years later) sometimes acts like I am trying to kill him when it's pill time... he's always had his pills.

He's still with us and partly I credit that with our paranoia...my vet knows that I err on the side of paranoia with my cats, and I am fine with them thinking I am ridiculous with my worrying. But it saves me regretting that I didn't take more care, I know I've done everything I can for Bobo and when and if he goes he's had a pretty fine life despite all the veterinary intervention :)

What I am trying to say is, you aren't alone in this worrying over your Mokkun. I am sure he would prefer not to spend the night in the bathroom but I am also sure that he knows you are not doing it to be mean. He knows that you love him.

And I hope that tomorrow brings pee in the litterbox and he seems more comfortable...

I took him up to my room for a while to let him play. He is acting more like himself tonight.
His mouse on a string is geting a lot of action. Right now he has the thing in his mouth with the tail
sticking out very funny. Maybe he just want some ME time,
On giving him pills he has to be the easiest cat I have ever given pills to. Bit him down on this back
legs and open him mouth and pop it in and close his mouth and down it goes. Every now and then
he will spit one out. The Vet has said that he is easy to work with. My reg vet is back on the 3rd and
we will go in to see him if things stay calm. 1.jpg Mouse on a string AKA Dinner

Then there is Tetsu the one time that I don't want him to eat caned food is when it's Mokkun's
Other wise he won't eat can that been in the fridge. Then there is Bella. Don't set you coffee
down anywhere near her or you will have cat slobber in it. She will clean a finished cup out
in short order.

Sean

P.S. I had to retype a bunch because Mokkun wanted to type.
