Those are all great names! Pam, I really like how you were able to combine the names of the parents Ashley, that's funny! One of my friends last night said to call him Mufasa from Lion King, you guys think alike lol

I love Mufasa & Sarabi (sp). If I ever get a female that will be her name, I dont care what anyone else thinks!

I guess I'm the odd one out here. I went off personality and it didn't even cross my mind to go African. lol. Taz had been home a couple of hours when we picked his name (short for the Tazmanian Devil). He was on our sofa just totally freaking out on a toy and we decided that was the perfect fit. After almost three years, it's still perfect for my crazy boy. Good luck deciding.

I kind of broke the mold with the African name thing. Vienna is after the Austrian city, lol. Very non-African. Honestly, it just popped into my head when I first saw her. I played around with a few other names, but I just knew that was the right one for her.

I've got another non-African Savannah name. Kel-jin was my boyfriends character in World of Warcraft, and we of course met each other online through the game. I wanted to commemorate how we met, and of course our pets are our babies.. for now Keljin didn't seem like a suiting human baby name to save, so I always had planned it in my head that it would make a good cat name.

I was picking up Keegan on St. Patty's day, our last name is Irish, we live on Shamrock Blvd, so needless to say I was looking for a Irish name Keegan is Irish and means "little fiery one" (pegged that right!!), our last name means Majestic, and we bought him from Laura Majic - so he's registered as "Itsmajic Keegan the Majestic" ... laugh ..... how did I do!!

Tiger started out as tigger but got voted for Tiger and Titi for short. Bintu means beautiful one in African and Loki is the devil of michief so that was easy one to name him.

Oh my babies usually name themselves;>) Rumor F1 ..named because someone called me on the phone..before she got here and said I heard a rumor..I answered that it was a Rumor;>) Komere was named because when I talked to them as tiny babies I would say come here. She actually thought her name was come here(KOMERE).iZZY WAS SO NAMED BECAUSE THE BREEDR WASN'T SURE IF HE WAS GOING TO GO TO SOMEONE ELSE THAT HAD FIRST DIBS..I would ask is he mine(IZZY) Tahr...she is as black as tar;>) WELL..YOU GET THE IDEA!

I'll hopefully be in the same boat as you come August for our first Savannah kitten. But if you don't mind I'll share how we came up with our two Bengals names.

With our female I came up with lots of different names, none my hubby really liked. So I kept searching and thought I'd keep with the herb name like my dog Sage. So mentioned Basil. Of course hubby didn't like it. On the same site I found Basil it listed Bailey. So I said how about Bailey. That one he liked. lol Well anytime I hear Bailey I think of Bailey's Irish Cream. So we changed it up some and her named became Baileys Irish Dream.
Now our boy we had the same issue, I thought of lots, hubby didn't like. He wanted to name him Meow Meow or Gremlin (he was an ugly but in a cute way baby). Well poor guy was getting chased around by Bailey one day and my husband said, some day he'll be chasing her around. Light bulb moment I said how about Chasen? He actually liked that. We usually just call him Chase now, but his official name became Chasen Me Lucky Charms. And true enough he's the one chasing Bailey around all the time. lol

Sometimes the right name just comes to you.
